Davoodoo Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Just like topic says, make buffs toggleable. Contagion is great damage boost, but having to recast it every few seconds is bit annoying and making it not worth the effort, same thing with warcry, hysteria and other buffs. Im well aware that this would cause problems with duration but i can propose something to help deal with it. Duration mods would increase amount of time between energy drain ticks. Instead of draining 5 energy per 5 seconds +100% duration would drain 5 energy per 10 seconds.
Nia.Tahl Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Actually we do already have the systems for toggling in place and working like that. Just need more abilities to use the system.
GingerSmurfsown Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Another option would be that toggles buffs permanently consume some energy. Example: Warframe has 100 base energy, turning on the buff would reduce you maximum energy to lets say 50 while active. When the skill is toggled off your maximum energy returns to its base 100. This system is used in many other games and works well. Essentially by choosing to use the buff you are also choosing to have less energy available for other powers.

I don't really think this would work well with a game like Warframe
MarcusGraves Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I mean if we're talking about contagion I'd rather it applied to both your melee and guns which would make it much more worthwhile for 50 energy, the duration is already pretty good at 20 seconds max rank.
