DE staff, from what I understand, use alternate accounts without [DE] tags instead of their staff accounts when they play. They want to be treated like normal players and don't want to have to deal with the thousands of invites and PMs they'd get if everyone knew who they were.

 

So yeah, they do play, but you don't know it's them. You may have even been in a few games with them without ever realizing it.

I would seriously hide behind an anonymous account if I was them.  There would not be a second of peace if they didn't.
