We Need Dual Longswords, Actual Dual Longswords With It's Own Animations

We have plenty of Dual swords, all of them being a longsword and a dagger and I'm not a fan of that combination. I would like to see some Dual Longswords, not like that visual bug with the DHS, but actual longswords with their own animations.

 

The concept for dual katanas is there similar to how they're used by Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa, Mortal Kombat's Scorpion, and TMNT's Leonardo inlcuding how each individual character has their weapons sheathed. Scorpion and variations of Leonardo share the same weapon placements and Ryu Hayabusa has a different weapon placement, which can lead upto 3 different types of attack animation

 

The image on the left also shows a new way to sheath the longsword/dagger combination and is also the same weapon placement used by multiple variations of TMNT's Leonardo ( and looks more ninja like ) while the 2nd image is used by Scorpion and other variations of Leonardo which have the weapons sheathed on their back in an X pattern.

 

Ryu Hayabusa's weapon placements has one sword on his right hip and the other on his back resting on his right shoulder so his left arm is used to unsheath the sword on his hip and his right hand to unsheath the sword on his back, adding a new attack pattern different from what the 2 images on the top can have

 

 

You guys have possibilities for dual longsword types. It would be nice if you could consider this weapon type somewhere down the line.

Yes, I love my Dual Ether but would instantly trash them if there was a version with 2 Ether swords.

Not sure if i'm right but i think actual Dual Skana (two long Skanas) was existed before. That's when i first knew of Warframe and watch some closed beta gameplay and i saw a guy with two long Skanas sheathed kindda like the 2nd way you mentioned. After that it was fixed and turned into right now Dual Skana.

For a little while, indeed, from Melee 2.0 until just the very latest hotfix, you could use dual heat swords and the two swords were both equally of a   great length.

I used to depend on dual heat swords to get my dual longsword fix. Now I don't know what to do and so add my voice to the chorus calling for dual longswords. I myself would love dual Dakra.

 

Oh yeah, and bring back my dual long heat swords already!!!

No, I really don't think we need this. Dual sword stances can work with both shortswords and longswords, as well as axes and anything in between. Get outta here with your lame dual katanas.

While they don't need new stances, I think they should make a skin for all existing ones which allow you to turn them into actual dual swords, as well as those who like the original design of sword/dagger.

This - exactly this.

 

The dual heatswords worked just fine. I have no idea why the recent patch reversed them back to sword and knife. But they proved that two longswords could be used perfectly well with the existing dual blade stances. 

 

I strongly second the call to add skins to make actual dual swords. It would make sense to add stats to the skins, to increase power range at the expense of attack speed and or stamina, but given the risk of outcry of the community, I would be just fine for them to be plain statless cosmetic skins.

 

And, while it would hurt to have to pay platinum to get a market skin in order to get my beloved dual long heat swords back (that is, to have to pay for something that I once had for free)  I would be willing to do it.

All dual longswords fans, please upvote it so that DE takes notice and resumes dual longsword implementation in Warframe!

That's your opinion, and mine is that I don't like the longsword and dagger combination and my other opinion is that dual longswords should be a new weapon type, not an existing one, so yes, they should have their own attack patterns and leave the longsword and dagger combo for just that: longsword and dagger.

Whereas it would be much more useful keeping with those stances, and adding more combos or stances to stuff that needs it. Like polearms, glaive, machete. No point fixing something that isn't broken.

With the release of the Nikana, it seems fitting that there would be some follow up with a dashio (Dragon Dashio?).  I love the idea of dual swords and would echo the sentiment of this thread for sure.  By the same token, having a more traditionally styled long and short katana set would be pretty slick done the warframe way.  Either way, more dual wielding, please DE.
