BlueAnchorite Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I wanted to make a suggestion about the alerts system itself, in regards to the timed occurrence of alerts. From what I have seen from this system, it seems intended to get players to login on a day to day basis, on top of the awards from logging in. However, due to outside commitments, a player might miss something they have been waiting for multiple times, or just a rewarding alert they couldn't have foreseen. I propose that alerts be done as a daily job board, allowing players to login and do the alerts selected at the start of every 24 hour period, thus being able to complete the alerts they want to do in the time they can actually complete it in.
BlueAnchorite Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 That kind of defeats the purpose of the alert. It is meant to be slightly urgent, thus the limited time. Not to mention doing that would make the game a bit too easy (which is something we do not need, as we have quite a bit of it). I understand the idea of it, which is why I wanted to post in the feedback forums in order to tweak the way it works slightly and work on the idea. It's more annoying that you have friends that aren't online at that point in time who wanted what the alert gives, or you yourself get a notification of said alert but can't get online in time. I think the system could be done in such a way to still give them that urgency whilst also allowing more leniency in actually being able to get to said alert missions.

I know i do, and its kind of hard to get on warframe in the middle of working Edited June 3, 2014 by blackflashcannon
-Kyuubi- Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 personally i like the idea, because with the star chart completed and after you get most weapons from the void, you really have nothing to to in the game, besides grinding all day. With that system you could log in and easily choose what you want to do and you dont have to be online all night and day, because you could eventually miss something good.(Yea i know Alert Informer) Alerts are the only thing that brings a bit variety, because they can have any difficulty/tileset/gametype Other games have a mission board so why not Warframe too ? +1 for your idea :3
BlueAnchorite Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Yes, I considered that as well when writing my reply, as I have to go to school for 8+ hours as well, which also means I cannot get on Warframe until I get home. The reply I made was, through a balanced evaluation and judgement, the best compromise between workers, casual players, serious players, people in different timezones, and DE. I am sorry if the reply does not fit your expected answer. You said your response was a compromise between all those people, however all your response was doing was saying how the alerts being timed was to create a sense of urgency. That isn't a compromise as it does nothing to get those who can only access Warframe at certain times of the day to do these urgent alerts, missing out on items they could otherwise obtain on a different system.

I agree, this is also why alerts happen at random times like say prime time this week is what you really want but cant get on to get it, next week it might be during a time you can get on. The alert system to me isnt a system to help us get stuff, but is a system to make us want to get on WF more, thus spend more time and/or money on playing the game.
BlueAnchorite Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Perhaps a combination of the two could work then? With urgent timed events occurring that give better/more loot, and the job board to allow access for those who cant access those urgent ones.
BlueAnchorite Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Perhaps "Alerts" for the timed ones and "Bounties" for the board missions?
