I don't know what the reason is, how hard it is to fix it or if there can be something done about at all... but the way the game works right now is strange.

There is a huge difference between being the host or being a client when it comes to Gameplay experience.

For example...

... Energy Colours, ingame effects and other stuff not showing for Clients.

... Physics not Applying correctly (Jat Kittag launching Enemies sky high as Host, client only sees them fall and die).

... and the worst: Crits, Red Crits and Status proccs.. see here (Amprex, 149% crit chance, same loadout on all screenshots):

I don't know what it is.. a possibly crappy netcode, the generally high latency to any host, PC Performance or whatever but the way it behaves like this for months now is just disappointing and unfair to the players.

You still have not implemented an option to choose if you want to host a game or join as client only.

You should really.. really put more effort in optimizing and fixing stuff like this to make the game a more consistent and satisfying experience, regardless of being Host or Client. Since there are (understandably) no dedicated Session servers you have to come up with a solution... sooner rather than later.

Cheers,

a client searching for Red Crits

Edit: Edited my criticised "attitude" out.

It is true that the gap between hosting and being a client is noticeable and it should, at some point, be fixed. It's one of the few things in the game that bug me.

Oh look, someone who has no idea about coding decides he is fit to judge DE.

Here we go again!

I thought starting alot of my sentences with "I don't know.." made that clear. Gladly i can read and think before i post.

These complaints are all so minor in comparison to other bugs that need to be fixed (I'm looking at you banshee) that I don't understand the whole passive aggressive thing you have going on here. DE can't fix everything at once, introduce content and keep everyone happy. Sometimes bug fixes create more bugs else where.

Its not an easy process.

These bugs aren't exactly game breaking.

DE aren't perfect but no one is.

It will be fixed in time.

Oh yes it is clear, just as the groaning of people seeing someone who can't possibly judge DE fairly judging them for the thousandth time should become abundantly clear.

However, your attitude is bad and you should feel bad.

and another troll starts a topic. Is school out already this year?

Yes the tone is a negative one, yet he's still a player providing feedback. Be it positive or negative, feedback is still feedback, and the feedback he gave brings back an issue that's been around all bloody year with little signs of their being a fix on the way.

Even if the issue is already well known, at the very least this reminds DE that players such as Namacyst are paying attention and have observed well enough to point out this dip in the player's general quality of life when playing their game.

Thus reminding them of an important issue that should take at least some priority.

The only trolls here SolidBeer are those such as yourself who have done nothing to contribute positively to this thread, but rather to belittle the poster over bringing up a prevailing issue with the game.

Edit: For those saying this is a minor issue, clearly for some players it isn't. There's plenty of 'little' issues DE has been ignoring for months now that have been steadily piling up. Eventually all these 'little' bugs and issues that don't matter are going to accumulate and make the overall experience for the community poorer than if they were given some priority and addressed.

I'm not saying that's what DE is doing, I'm sure they're working on it as game development takes time. I'm only trying to stress here that you can't just ignore 'little' things and flame someone for bringing them up. They do matter.

Step off for a bit white-knights.

I actually love how angry and irritated people get over this game and how much S#&$ they hurl at DE because of some misguided sense of self entitlement.

If a minor and almost irrelevant bug like this pisses people off then I have no idea why so many other players are able to deal with almost game breaking bugs and still soldier on.

If you're going to suggest DE fix something just present them with teh details and hope it gets noticed. IT will eventually and normally anything significant is fix relatively quickly.

I would really like to see the forums become less toxic and whiny.

It ain't about negative feedback. Hell, negative feedback is twice as useful as positive.

Our reaction, however, is against negative attitude. While the problem exists, as I already said, and I'd definitely support this thread if it was worded in a more civil manner, lashing out at DE as if they owe us something is no solution. Whatsoever.

Having the damage of up to three quarters of the team halved is not exactly minor and irrelevant.

2 out of the 3 issues are minor. One is significant yet not game breaking. Should definitely be fixed and soon I agree.

Its the tone and attitude that is counter productive.

We have enough toxicity and abuse on the forums as it is.

Fair enough and well put.

On a different note, I'd rather they fix and implement things they promised so long ago, and then slowly focus on working out the kinks and bugs of the client/host thing.....

or we can get rid of these bugs which are many months old. Enough waiting. Just fix it.

Assuming coding is easy, which it isn't. Assuming you're a large, experienced company making a F2P, which DE isn't. Less about waiting and more about relevance vs priorities vs manpower.
