His reworking doesn't look like he's going to be super silly just over the top. Kind of like what they've done with most reworkings make the characters have over the top things going on. However, if they do decide to make Neffy boy super silly and have Derf super silly with him I'll be disappointed. I'm looking forward to a serious Nef and a derpy Def tag team. Also going back to that quote, is it wrong that NefxTyl is my OTP of Warframe? I don't get how that quote makes him somehow un-military-like/not serious. Well, if you had, then you'd know that Nef Anyo's quotes aren't out of place for someone titled "Sergeant". That's all I'm saying. What I am saying is that that current concept looks more in line with Alad V design wise (the small pic seems to have the contour of a similar outfit as Alad V). So, yeah, I may have assumed that they're going for a comical route, especially with Derf Anyo (who doesn't even look Corpus in the least bit. Hope that's not his final design). And yes, I assumed that you were saying that the quote was out of place for a sergeant. My apologies. I just hope he's like an over-the-top sergeant. I concur and would enjoy seeing an over-the-top Sergeant Nef. If he is to be "silly" in a way that isn't just ruining the "Sergeant" title in his name. And it's all good, I get a little upset living with an Ex-Marine having some people ask if I understand military things. I'll say this once more before I say it a million times: I want Nef to be over-the-top Drill Sergeant, screaming at the top of his lungs whenever he sees anyone doing anything wrong, and then there's Derf messing everything up. Eternal_Shrine_Maiden Posted June 7, 2014 Share Posted June 7, 2014 *Watched Devstream, and read Derf Thread* [sTART] "Sigh....this is so troublesome", Nyx muttered under her breath as she was faced with a legion of Corpus crewmen as well as MOAs in what was meant to be a relaxing spy assignment in one of the many ships that seem to litter the Solar system. Though she might admit that it was not as troublesome as having to complete the task alone since she was not a fan of carrying a datamass from one end of the ship to another. "Come on Nyx-chan! You still have to do at least one job, otherwise Lotus-sama would be very unhappy with you!" came the rather upbeat and encouraging voice of Mag, whom decided to tag along with Nyx so that they could both finish Nyx's 'compulsory' assignment quicker. Mag was nice enough to carry the datamass for Nyx, whilst also causing heaps of havoc against the hordes of very irate crewmen and their equally irate proxies. "Yeah, yeah; I just want to get this over with quicker so that I can just get back to the dojo....." Nyx waved her hand dismissively towards the still enthusiastic Magnetic frame as she continues to unleash hell on their enemies and kept moving from one terminal to the other. It was at that time when the light started flickering in an ominous manner, and soon enough there was movement above them which got louder and louder. Both the Magnetic and Psyche-frame stopped and kept their guard up, preparing for the imminent arrival of the Stalker or a Harvester. Their guard however were not resolute enough to prevent their surprised reaction as an all so familiar grate fell in front of them and following it was the unmistakeable muffled sound of someone screaming. In no time Nyx and Mag saw the unmistakeable figure of someone falling in front of them in a rather comical faceplant. He looked Corpus in appearance but stood out from the other crewmen like a sore thumb, specifically his rather unusual helmet as well as his much lighter build; attached to his back were two swords that seem a little too pristine to have been used at all. As the interloper laid motionless on the floor, Nyx and Mag stood there in silence for a moment, as if processing what had just happened. After said moment, Nyx in her usual display of wisdom decided to break the silence. "What...." such a simple word, that meant so much to the two increasingly confused frames. The moment Nyx uttered the word, the still figure was motionless no more as, the interloper hastily stood up and took on a flashy pose, stars seem to spark from the individual's visor, much to the chagrin of the Psyche-frame whom twitched slightly at the action. Mag however sweatdropped at that and unconsciously moved behind Nyx, the strange corpus starting to creep her out. "Tenno.......it is about time that I have finally faced you in the flesh, you have been a plague to the Corpus for too long! But I will sadly say that this is your time of reckoning!!" the strange individual then moved to another equally absurd pose, his head still looking to the side, away from Nyx and Mag....the starry fx did not dissipate one bit. "I am.......Derf Anyo, prodigious nephew of Sgt. Nef Anyo, and enthusiasts of the Tenno Culture! PREPARE TO DI-" the now named Derf Anyo then moved his head to see Nyx and Mag, which led to the reason why his declaration was cut short and was now in a sputtering mess as his pose has now fully corroded. Nyx had to fight back a vein that was threatening to pop out of her helm, and successfully did so. She have a silent and exasperated sigh, before muttering another 'troublesome'. "Uh....I am sorry but what are you suppose to be doing here uh...Derf-san? Me and Nyx-chan here really need to be going now so-" Mag responded but was cut short when Derf started yelling... "Oh my CREDITS!!!! I cannot believe that I get to meet Nyx and Mag in my first official deathmark action! This is so cool!" Derf exclaimed, if one were to see past his customised corpus helmet, they would have seen a blush forming on his face.... In fact, in a display of implausibility, a blush formed on his helmet... "Oh I always thought both of you are the best Tenno, well not surprising as I always keep nothing but the highest standards when choosing my waifus! B-but I just cannot believe that I would meet them so soon!" Derf was now rambling in a rather...fanboyish manner. "Nyx-chan, you always look so elegant and cool! I always thought your lazy personality just added to your charm, just like a sleeping Dragon that is both deadly and beautiful." He then took note of Mag, whom was still behind Nyx, and he certainly had a lot to say about her... "Then there's Mag-chan.....the Corpus nightmare; your very presence destroys even the most powerful of Corpus shields and even the Ospreys that generate them. Even as you are making short work of your enemies, you are always known remain modest and friendly amongst your Tenno peers and even other crewmen!" Nyx became a lot more unamused if that was even possible from Derf's ramblings, whilst Mag started to fidget in a bashful manner, the sea of praises from someone whom was technically her enemy was making her increasingly embarrassed. "Look.....Derf, we are not interested with your fanboy moment right now; so can we just go? I really want to get back to the dojo and get some sleep...." Nyx interrupted Derf's ramblings. Said Tenno Enthusiast broke from his rambling and reverie, and decided to take on a 'serious' demeanour, unsheathing his swords and adopt another over-the-top combat pose. "I am afraid not Tenno, my Uncle's blood is on your hands....and I have no choice but to face the both of you in battle. I will let you know now that I will show no mercy as I unleash my skills and power on both of you." Derf spoke in a cliché 'emotionless avenger' manner. "Wait a minute....are those Skanas?" Nyx asked in a deadpan. Derf scoffed at that, "I'll have you know that these are limited edition 1/1 Perfect Grade Skana replicas that I have painstakingly sought out and purchase, each cost 75,000 credits! They will be my instruments as we settle this grudge with honor!" Derf took on a combat.......pose.....sigh. "Even as I face the both of you right now as an avenger....I sometimes wonder." Derf looked down for a moment, before leveling his visor at his opponents whom are incidentally his choice of waifus.... "Do you think love can bloom on the battlefield?" the starry fx formed once again. Nyx decided that she really had enough of this; she just wanted to go home and sleep!! "Alright Derf, if you are so dedicated towards slowing me down and ruining my sleep-time, I will just have to force you to know your place..." Nyx reached for her Dragon Nikana before yelling to Mag. "Mag-chan, Shield Polarise!" Mag reacted immediately and released a wave of magnetic energy which disabled Derf's shielding, much to the Tenno enthusiast's panic. Nyx then disappeared in a flurry of speed, and started to unleashed her pent-up frustration on him, in the form of pain. Some time later: Derf laid on the ground, face first and his body twitching in pain from Nyx's unamused fury, said Psyche-frame sheathed her Nikana. "What a drag...Mag-chan, come on lets get the last datamass and go home....", Nyx was back into her lazy mood and continued to move. Mag walked over Derf's prone form, careful not to step on him. "Um, Nyx-chan....did you have to be so rough on him? I mean, I don't think he's such a bad guy..." Mag spoke as she caught up with Nyx. "That troublesome Corpus wasted my time, and you know how I feel when someone wastes my time. He should be lucky I did not decide to kill him then and there." Nyx then gave one parting glance towards the unconscious Corpus. "I admit he has a way with words though, even if he is practically an otaku." Nyx then shook her head profusely, and started to quicken the pace. Mag just gave Nyx a curious glance, before giving off a light giggle and picking up the pace as well.
