AlphaPsyCongaroo Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 because dont we have enough warframes already that just kill or disable everything in a radius around them? our newest addition, hydriod, there's really not much that is unique about him. yet another radial kill all and disable all button in the flavor of water. how about some more ultimates and abilities that take some skill to aim for any new upcomming warframes in the works?
Cleesus Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Like Slash Dash, Soul Punch and Shuriken? None of those are skill shots you point at the enemy and the game does the rest. You might have a case for Slash Dash
(PSN)Bobtm0 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Granted I basically always love skill shot type skills, there's a bit of a reason they are more of an outlier in this type of a game. Specifically speaking we fight enemies in veritable hordes, at which point radial abilities just tend to work out better at the end of the day. Part of the reason I enjoy Vauban as much as I do is exactly because his skills are deployed via a thrown orb, and aiming that throw well or poorly can make a noticeable difference in the overall effectiveness of the individual cast. However his skills still generate an ability radially upon actual activation. On the flip side, our guns in and of themselves require direct aiming (in most cases) but most guns are highly accurate and hitscan so it's not a great feat to strike a foe from fairly long range with guns as it is. With our damage being what it is on guns it would render practically any damage based skill shot irreparably pointless. Short version; I dig the idea, but am not sure how it could be implemented in a worthwhile manner.
Auxeus Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Feels like a gunslinger frame that do buffs his/hers guns for effected damage output.

calabi Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Yeah I dont like the AOE kill everything in the area type abilities that much. Why do we have guns if we have those? I'd like frames with more utility like abilities. Ways of escaping or mitigating harm things like that.
