VegetableBasket Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) Yeah, you heard it here first. You can't say "fart" in the in game chat. Can someone please tell me what kind of person is offended by the word "fart"? I tried to explain to someone after a minor server outage last night that the "server farted" but instead I got "server ****" which just made it look like I was saying something really nasty. I just can't comprehend how someone had the idea, "Yeah. 'fart' is pretty offensive and crude to say, we can't allow people to use that word." Consequently the forums don't filter it whatsoever.Do you guys think this is reasonable? Am I making too big a deal out of this? Think it's funny (I do)? Let me know. TheErebus. Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Saying… F.A.R.T is a sin against humanity and it must be purged out!
Katakuna Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 My momma didn't like it when I said the word "fart" back when I was five. Seems reasonable to me.
Pansoy Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) fart EDIT: Oh nevermind, didn't read correctly. xD Edited June 7, 2014 by Pansoy
DMan Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) I heard that someone died from a fart. Maybe it's a touchy subject for some people. Edited June 7, 2014 by DMan128
(PSN)Bobtm0 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Try using flatus instead, it'll likely confuse people more plus it's got many of the same letters.
VegetableBasket Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Try using flatus instead, it'll likely confuse people more plus it's got many of the same letters. That's a noun and not a verb.
PsychedelicSnake Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 That's a noun and not a verb. The word verb is a noun. So is the word noun. I don't know where I was going with that.
16Bitman Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 IIRC you can disable the chat filter somewhere in the settings when you're ready to hear all the cool kids swear all the time because that's what cool kids seem to do nowadays.
rechot Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 this is the weirdest thing i have seen in the forums yet
OptimumBow0 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I tried to explain to someone after a minor server outage last night that the "server farted" but instead I got "server ****" which just made it look like I was saying something really nasty. Well, now I'm brain dead from lack of oxygen. Excuse me while I relieve myself.
(PSN)Bobtm0 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 That's a noun and not a verb. It's chat, the home of broken English and things that make less than negative sense. Nobody'll be any wiser so long as you don't spread the word. Also, seeing as it is a noun that ends in us... like a cactus....... Does that mean that multiple farts are indeed a flati? Which leads me to a new idea, just start using cactus as a verb. Maybe it'll catch on.
The-Little-Fox Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I have no idea why I find this funny. Pretty sure later this evening while on shift I'm going to randomly think of this thread and start laughing. Coworkers and Customers are going to think I'm not all there because I'm holding back giggles, because my brain decided to think of a thread regarding the fact that the word "fart" is in the swear filter.
(PSN)NicoTheSneakyGuy Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 They probably put it in the swear filter so it doesn't generate any combustion.

KeepOnFlowing Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) They probably put it in the swear filter in case some insecure 12 year old from a COD game wanders into our glorious domain. Edited June 8, 2014 by BecomeLikeWater
Archistopheles Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 some insecure 12 year old from a COD game I've seen how they type. They don't use the word Fart. They use words like "rape" "%&^" and "your mother."
KeepOnFlowing Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I've seen how they type. They don't use the word Fart. They use words like "rape" "%&^" and "your mother." Please! NO! Do not subjugate me to the evil ways of COD gamers! PLEASE!

Grascen Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Dark Souls 2 censors "AngryPirate", "AngryPenguin", and "ead".
