Marelok Or Brakk.

Hi. Serious question Marelok or Brakk? (for every situation). Which 1 is usefull everywhere and what are your oppinion.

brakk will win at close range and with close groups of enemies

 

marelok wins at long range and taking out heavies with a well placed head shot is great.

Really depends on your preference Marelok can be compared to a revolver and is a good mi-range pistol you can hit hard and even snipe with

brakk is amazing for close range and clearing out groups of enemies

I do not have the Brakk yet, but I'm eager to add it to my arsenal because of the extremely fast reload time.

 

A lot of people will point out that it's good for close range because it's a shotgun that does lots of damage, but lots of guns are nice and strong in this game, (in fact I think Marelok has higher damage per shot and crit chance IIRC...). The bottleneck for performance from a handc annon when fighting up close is usually having to reload during a fight. As you go up levels you start having to drop reload speed mods from your build to get more damage.

 

Brakk has a base reload of ONE SECOND. At that speed it probably doesn't even feel like reloading at all, just an animation playing while swapping targets. It also has a much higher firing rate which probably goes unnoticed at low levels, but if you need to dump a mag in something big I bet you can really feel it. I know Marelok holds me up sometimes.

Honestly, go for Brakk. Even a SHOTGUN has better accuracy then Marelok.

According to DPSframe, Brakk does literally twice the damage of Marelok, likely because of its superior rate of fire and it having near half the reload time. Obviously this figure was probably taken from point blank targets, but Warframe tends to be played in relatively tight quarters.

 

Marelok is easier to get if you're in a clan, is more effective at range, and is a lot bigger and flashier. Brakk has significantly greater raw power at close to medium range, is more effective against armor, has an additional polarity, and is extremely reliable with its negligible reload time and high fire rate. Pick your poison, dude. And by poison I mean "one of two strongest pistols in the game."

 

Since your question, however, was also which was "useful everywhere," that's Brakk. More evenly distributed damage, whereas Marelok is obviously geared toward fighting Corpus and to a lesser extent Infested, and you don't have to be as good a shot with a Brakk.

Just because I earned it from gradivus event, I say go for the brakk. Its pellet spread is pretty good, has a nice clip and reload speed and with the right mods (and maybe the seeker mod for piercing), that thing can get the highest DPS that the merelok cannot compete with.

I'm going to say that my personal preference is the Marelok, it has good accuracy, is good in most ranges though accuracy falls off a bit at extreme long ranges, and you can get it up to nearly 100% status change with the right mods. Plus it does buttloads of damage. While on the other hand Brakk does a lot of damage but it's only really good at close range.

Depends on your gameplay, if you find yourself always in a distance with enemies, i would say Marelok.

 

If you're a rambo-style people, go Brakk.

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and say Detron. Unless you're talking super late wave survival, Detron with enough forma has enough burst DPS to melt anything with a shot or two, and also spray a crowd at long range.

 

Brakk's hard falloff literally means it's useful only within 15M or so (dont know exact #) basically making it like the synapse or phage.

 

Marelok is a powerful gun as well, but its not a group killer, it's a pocket sniper. If you want something that can handle groups at short med and long range and also take out single targets with slightly more effort, i'd say Detron.

 

Also, you can build Detron with a single element build which means an extra net 50% or so DPS applied to your target, and a much higher chance of proc.

I like a Marelok with seeker. It really needs forma to fit on a mod that expensive, but it's very powerful and it addresses the weak crowd control aspect.

Brakk's damage falloff, ironically, makes it harder to deal with crowds with or without punch through.

Both are great choices though. Get the Marelok and build it up then use it to get the Brakk, forma both to perfection, and then abandon them forever while you level something new. It's the Warframe way.
