Tried maxed Metal Auger, and it got addictive, especially in some defense maps. Then tried maxed Critical Delay, and the weapon looked more solid. One thing that I discovered with the Sybaris, is that you can kill two targets not lined, just sliding the aim to any direction while the burst is shot. The two-shot burst allows for it, and a decreased rate of fire seems to made the burst slower, giving you a bit more time to slide the aim. This is something that Speed Trigger also did with the Burston, although in that case it made the burst quicker, giving less recoil. In the case of Critical Delay, you will not feel too much recoil, because its only two shots, and the Sybaris is pretty much more stable than the Burston. The sliding shot dont requires punch-through, but with it I was able to kill 6 targets with one single click in a T2 defense. So, a critical build, with punch through, is the way to go on this weapon, but then, if you use both Critical Delay and Hammershot, you will not have a proper slot for an elemental damage mod, because theres a issue with the Sybaris, an issue which is a design flaw. Is its reload time. The reload time takes forever, for its only five shots. Although this is not as game-breaking as the reload of the Vulkar is, it still made the Sybaris not so much Tenno-like as it should be, since Tenno values action and speed. With a maxed Fast Hands this can be fixed, giving it a reload time of 1.5 second, which made much more sense for this weapon, but by then you lose one slot. So the Sybaris needs a reload speed buff, from 2 second to 1.5 second reload time. This should the normal on it, and Fast Hands optional in case someone need a build which is the exactly opposite of what I described above, that is, a build focused on speed instead of criticals. I love it's complexity but do think the reload is ever so slightly too punitive.

When someone tries to be thorough with their suggestions, it would be appreciated from the community to at least give a few minutes to read what their point is, if it interested them to begin with. Unless the suggestion can really be digested into a TL;DR, I don't think it's too fair for the TC. @TC: Breaking up your arguments/suggestions would help in terms of reading though. If you could that, I'd really appreciate it. Most of your first paragraph only tries to say that the Sybaris is a solid weapon. If you could at least separate that paragraph from the part where you mention its weakpoint (reload speed), it may be better to get directly into your suggestion. I do think a slight reload time buff won't hurt it though. Not sure about the numbers you requested yet since I don't have the mind to think too much right now. And how DE completely disregarded that feedback and just buffed it's damage? Exactly. You have my support, although small changes like these that could greatly improve weapon performance seem to elude the Devs (just adding more damage doesn't solve everything guys).

It's been put into the shelves because probably most of DE don't like the weapon in the first place. /half-joke. They really shouldn't. There are enough mods as is, in the drop pool, and it still doesn't address the fact that +30% reload speed is still anemic in the grand scheme of things.

We have the basic, and some advanced ones.
Vargras Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I'm more interested in why you're even using Critical Delay or Metal Auger on the Sybaris? Critical Delay isn't that great of a mod on it, and Shred would be better than Metal Auger.
