What Are Some Good Shotgun Options

I have yet to dip into any of the shotguns but feel the need to try one of them out and am looking for a recommendation.  I have really liked the dread, marlock, soma and latron.  Anyone have a favorite shottie they want to share, or at least witch one to stay away from.

My favorite is the Sobek. Pellet count isn't super high, but that's what Multishot is for. It shoots real fast and is pretty good at CC.

I would recommend Drakgoon. Seems to get the job done and it has a scatter shot and charge shot mode. If modded properly can be very awesome.

Phage is currently not only the best shotgun in the game, it is also the best primary weapon, in the sense that it deals more damage than any other.

 

However, Phage requires extensive clan research and a considerable amount of mutagen masses. If you are a new player, it may be hard to get. An excellent alternative to that weapon is the Boar Prime Shotgun, which can be found in the void, or bought in the trading chat by +/- 30p (full set, orokin cells not included).
