Sumika1204 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) In the forests of Earth, hidden from the Grineer was a cache of Tenno cryopods. They had been found first and foremost by the Excalibur Prime known as Ezalor. He had been stranded on Earth for the past century, hiding in the forests and constantly eluding the Grineer. During his trials and hardships, his frame had suffered damage which he could not repair without the equipment on his ship but was still functional. Speaking of his ship, he still had yet to remember where he had left it a century ago. It had to be somewhere nearby or at least, that was what he thought. He couldn't quite remember, actually. From his extended time living in the forest, he had been forced to improvise here and there. He had a long, white beard which stopped halfway down his torso. a result of having not shaved in quite some time. His face, left somewhat wrinkled by age, was visible as his helmet had been damaged beyond use and thus, he left it in the hut he had built for himself. For warmth during the nights, he had taken to wearing his old, white initiate robes from before the Collapse over his warframe. A white, minus the smudges left by dirt and grime accumulated through the day, hat similar to those worn by wizards in the tales of old adorned his head. With his trusty Bo Prime gripped in one hand and the reins of his trusty steed in the other, he rode forth. The reins were made from dried vines made into a sort of rope and used to help control his mount, an unusually large male Kubarow which he had tamed and taken care of to the best of his ability. It was as much his steed as his companion and friend. However, the Excalibur Prime had forgotten the gender of the Kubarow on multiple occasions and named him Gladys as a result. Smaller leaves and branches passed them by as they hurried forth through the overgrown forest as if on an important quest and before long, their targets were in sight. The Excalibur began charging a particularly powerful Radial Blind into his Bo Prime as he held it pointed at the unsuspecting Grineer whilst he remained hidden amongst the trees and roots. He waited five seconds while he charged, aiming his sole weapon at the Grineer. Right before he unleashed a powerful flash of blinding light at the Grineer, he yelled, "I bring dark's banishment!" It took them by surprise, causing them to drop to the ground in intense pain while covering their burning eyes in hopes of soothing the pain. One might expect any Tenno to take advantage of the situation and kill an incapacitated group of enemies but not Ezalor, the Excalibur Prime. After having permanently blinded his opponents with an especially intense Radial Blind as usual, he and his steed rode off into the depths of the forest, never to be seen again by the Grineer patrol. He fled back to his refuge where the dormant Tenno waited. Most Tenno would want to awaken their dormant brothers and sisters from cryosleep but Ezalore was unsure of the wisdom of such a move. They would need food if they were awake and want to move around. They would be in more danger if he awakened them early or so he thought. He hoped that an ally would find him and those he guarded before the Grineer did. OOC: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/246578-defense-of-the-tenno-ooc/ Edited June 15, 2014 by Sumika1204

Now there's a new tale for them down there. They were to locate the Cryopods. bring them back to the Shark and await their opening, If they encounter the Grineer, they were to eliminate them silently and quickly without any trouble. Siren landed the Shark in a location within the area of suspectability. The Cell was lead by Leo, Sky, Eve and Joker as they dwelled into the woodlands of Earth as they were the most agile. It wasn't difficult for Ezalore to notice the relatively large ship landing relatively nearby in an open area of the forest. The Shark was a scout ship, yes but it was quite large compared to the interceptors most Tenno used when heading out on missions and generally travelling the system. It was probably a Tenno ship, he thought. It definitely didn't look like anything the Grineer had when he last looked to the sky, at least. The cell of Tenno would find that many of the Grineer patrols they encountered had been blinded in a permanent manner and were thus unable to find their ways back to base to receive optical implants to fix their problem. Yet another bit of Ezalore's plan, which he couldn't quite remember half the time. If the Grineer were blinded but not dead then the patrols would end up incapacitated but not replaced, buying precious time while the disabled Grineer waited to be found and brought back to one of their outposts to be given implants.
Drakeardian Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) Leo and his team perked an eyebrow at the liveness of the Grineer but they were also curious. Joker silently giggled and whispered to one of the Grineer in a terrifying voice "Boo" before heading back to his cell as they ventured forth Meanwhile the Shark cut all engines and cloaked itself so as not to be discovered The Grineer marine was startled but couldn't really do much. He didn't know where the Tenno was and if he fired wildly, he'd probably end up shooting the other blinded Grineer nearby. The Grineer marine just muttered, "Tenno skoom." as he sat there on a log. Though after Joker and the other Tenno left, they would hear the growls of feral Kubarows nearby, followed by the screams of the Grineer. The cell could try following the single set of Kubarow tracks left by Ezalore's 'trusty steed'. Speaking of which, how that one Kubarow had even grown so large was a mystery. Was it Grineer chemicals mutating local wildlife or something else? Who knows?
Drakeardian Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Leo looked at the tracks with a raised eyebrow "Have you seen anything like this Sky?" Said Leo "No, Must be the chemical within the Grineer" Replied Sky "Arn't they Omnivores?" Asked Eve "Oh No, they're rather excellent Carnivores....Can we get one Leo?" Inquired Joker "Not a feral one" Replied Leo, as he and the rest of the team followed the tracks, being careful also "Oh your no fun any-more!" Replied Joker
Nick-ka-ka Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 A small jolt shot through Izaya's body as the cryopod opened up, the warmth of the outside world reaching to her as she awoken. She weakly gripped the edge of the pod and rose up, looking around at the jungle that she was in, unsure of what occurred in between the time of her slumber. What she did know what that this place has changed greatly from when she last remembered, and from what she could see, she was alone. Climbing out of the cryopod, Izaya would feel a little energy flow into her, most likely a remnant from the cryopod when it opened up. Soon after that the shields were up to protects the Trinity as she stumbled out a little, looking out into the surrounding area. She hears the sounds of the forest as she looks up into the light shimmering down through the trees. "Well, now what will I do?" she muttered to herself, thinking for a second before going off to see if there were others waking up.

Replied Joker Following the tracks and passing several more blind Grineer patrols who were just sitting around, waiting to either be found by their comrades or eaten alive by feral Kubrows, the cell of Tenno would come upon the entrance to Ezalore's refuge. It was built from wreckage gathered over the years from failed attempts at Grineer expansion foiled by the forest. The metal had been covered with moss and dirt and in some areas, bushes were growing on it. Had they not followed the tracks, they might have mistaken it for a small hill. The entrance was concealed by a large bush growing in front of it. Most of the structure was underground, however, metal platforms and spaces among giant tree roots being linked by ladders, sheets of metal and in some cases, the roots themselves. The cryopods were housed in a somewhat spacious chamber the roots had formed but Ezalor's living space was closer to the surface.
Drakeardian Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 This excited Joker more with the blind Grineer but Leo would probably put him in the brig for a few days so.... When they arrive the 4 of them took a moment to do a sweep of the area before Leo, Sky and Eve took a moment to check out the wreckage, dating it and where it may be from. Joker just took a moment to explore the forests. When the 3 were finished Leo went inside the Refuge quietly...

An alert flashed on Izaya's warframe, indicating a disturbance at the very edge of its perceptive ability, as a few disturbed leaves drifted lazily from the canopy. Seconds later, what seemed to be a leering, pale yellow skull glanced at her through the thick undergrowth, then vanished as quickly as it appeared in a flash of wiry limbs. Something was hunting her.
Sumika1204 Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 This excited Joker more with the blind Grineer but Leo would probably put him in the brig for a few days so.... When they arrive the 4 of them took a moment to do a sweep of the area before Leo, Sky and Eve took a moment to check out the wreckage, dating it and where it may be from. Joker just took a moment to explore the forests. When the 3 were finished Leo went inside the Refuge quietly... The dating of the wreckage varied here and there as the metal used to construct the refuge had been gathered across a period of a century. Granted, the most recent pieces were at least a decade old, however while the oldest were over a century old. All of it came from the Grineer's attempts at setting up outposts in the forest, only for those outposts to be overrun and destroyed by the vegetation. Leo would find that the interior was lit by Grineer lanterns that had been stolen and hung from metal rods driven into the roots here and there. It kept the entire place well enough lit. There were various floors made of metal platforms and connected by ladders. In some places, what supplies Ezalore had managed to scrounge up could be seen packed away in containers. If Leo continued further, he would find Ezalore in a large alcove formed by the roots, asleep in his makeshift bed His white Kubrow was next to the alcove, awake and alert.
Drakeardian Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Sky peered at the century old plating doing some more research on it. Meanwhile Leo pressed onward, raising an eyebrow at the lamps and even the supplies around, still looking around for the Crypods however when he spotted the Tenno Prime, he slowly approached it saying "Hey, are you alright over there?"

Meanwhile Leo pressed onward, raising an eyebrow at the lamps and even the supplies around, still looking around for the Crypods however when he spotted the Tenno Prime, he slowly approached it saying "Hey, are you alright over there?" The aged Excalibur Prime groaned a bit as he sat up in the alcove. Bed or not, sleeping on giant tree roots like that wasn't exactly comfortable. "Eh, what?", he asked before looking in Leo's direction. "Who are you? Did you come from below?" He rubbed his eyes, his vision slightly hazy from having just awakened from his slumber. As he eased his way out of the alcove, he grabbed his Bo Prime and used it to make standing easier, using it for support. The large, white Kubrow padded up to Leo and sniffed at him, being cautious at first but after getting his scent, it calmed down. It sat there and panted like a pet dog. The cryopods were deeper down, secure in the lower areas of the refuge. If he went deeper, he would see all of them safe and sound down there and in near perfect condition. There was dust and some grime on them here and there but everything was largely fine.

Dalimir Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Dalimir was collecting plant samples, and had just finished scanning a Moonlight Jadeleaf when he heard the sound of a branch snapping. He slinked his way over to the source of the noise, keeping behind a bush as he saw a patrol of Grineer stumbling about, as if they were trying to get their wits together. Curious, he stepped out of the shadows, and meeting no resistance, inspected the Grineer more closely. He would wave his arm in front of their faces and meet no reaction, and their eyes looked permanently burned. "Interesting." He thought to himself. Deciding to see if this was an isolated case, he teleported up into the branch of a tall tree, startling a wild bird as he appeared. He could see that this was not an isolated case, there were many Grineer either fumbling about or simply waiting where they stood. "There's a pattern here... I just need to find the centre of it all, and see what lies within this circle of blindness someone has so carefully set up."

Dalimir Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Unfortunately for Dalimir, that same Tree he climbed up happens to be the one the insane Loki known as Joker is sleeping on, The snoring Loki was happily sleeping when a bird disturbed him. He jumped up shouting "Who?! What?! Where?!Nursery Rhymes! Musicals! Puppy Dogs! Aroma Therapy!" When Dalimir heard the commotion somewhere around him, he easily found the source and looked upon the Loki that had flailed and cried out in perplexed confusion, before silently sighing and shaking his head. Then he remembered: this Tenno was not of his clan, and those of his clan must remain forgotten. So he quickly reached for his right shoulder, carrying the symbol of a jagged, grey sword, and deactivated it, ensuring he would not be remembered, if he could be remembered. After he did that, he continued to analyze the pattern of blinded Grineer, building a map in his head.
Sumika1204 Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 "Ah, actually I came from above, My name's Leonardo, I'm the Commander of the Tenno Scout ship called the Shark" he replied, holding out a small treat for the Kubrow, some fresh Kubrow biscuits "Are you okay here, you look like hell" The Kubrow sniffed the biscuits before eating them right out of Leo's hand, licking the crumbs off of the Excalibur's hand as well. It might be a topic of curiosity when the others saw the large Kubrow. He was, in fact, about as large as a horse of old Earth was. The Kubrow nuzzled Leo affectionately. "The years have not been kind, my friend. My name is Ezalor." He paused for a moment, seeming to be deep in thought. "Or at least that's what I think it is. I don't quite remember sometimes." He returned his focus to Leo. "Now where was I, again?"

MasterDread Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Shadow was sitting up in a tree, surveying the bumbling antics of the Grineer patrols below. Something seemed quite wrong with them. Shadow was just tossing a Despair up and down in his hand. "Someone has made my job a whole lot easier. Easy money." He said as he snickered under his helmet. "But i still haven't the slightest clue where these pods are... What a pain." He jumped down from the tree, checking his radar for signals of other Tenno who may be nearby, he headed off in the direction of the closest signature.
