Tesseract_The_Pariah Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) We know that the Orokin didn't like the void, and yet they apparently have so much to do with it. They apparently didn't even understand it. Yet.. they built soo much tech relating to it and harnessed it so well..My Theory is thus; We are actually scurrying about in sentience corrupted Orokin strongholds, and the sentience actually have a lot to do with the Void. Meaning that Tenno are immune to whatever sentients disruption that ravaged the Orokin themselves. It would make sense to inoculate or reverse engineer your enemies' abilities into your soldiers. I mean, after all, FTL travel is based on the void and all, maybe we attracted the Sentients to us via our use/abuse of the void. Just listen to some of his quotes: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_Vor_%28Corrupted%29/Quotes "Tresspassers"Why are Tenno tresspassers in the void? We're mutated by it, shaped by it. Perhaps all Orokin were, in the eyes of the sentients... Edited June 15, 2014 by Gaminus
MegaSnail Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 No. It doesn't make sense. Just think about it for a bit, and you'll figure out why it wont make sense.
PsychedelicSnake Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Ah yes. Sentients. We have dismissed that claim.
Tesseract_The_Pariah Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) No. It doesn't make sense. Just think about it for a bit, and you'll figure out why it wont make sense. Why? How Vor seems so... incorporeal? He mentions being energy. The sentients could very well be energy based beings for all we know, seeing as how they disrupted technology. Perhaps the Tenno actually metabolize the energy they give off, or since we use Void energy we are resistant to their attacks. Perhaps the Janus key is a pure Orokin artifact, but at the same time, it seduced Vor with power. You know what's really creepy and un-orokin sounding? His (first) death. Listen to it: http://images.wikia.com/warframe/images/4/4a/CapVorDefeat.ogg That laugh.. It seems so... ghostly. And it doesn't sound like Vor. That points to either another entity in the void, perhaps a Sentient. Perhaps an Orokin. Ultimately, the Orokin saw the void as an unreasonable place and did not understand it, and yet they apparently had so much tech having to do with it. Perhaps we actually have sentients infected artifacts and call them Orokin because we know no better. Edited June 15, 2014 by Gaminus

My own theory to back this up is by his usage of the Janus key, it could very well be the first key that the Orokin's created. Janus is the god of the beginning and transitions according to Greek mythology. Perhaps the void saw the power of Vor and chose him. He is mentioned of being infinite, and seeing as the Void has it's own laws it would make sense that death is not permanent, nor is anything permanent for that matter. The Void is an infinite space in which laws hold no value, where things that are impossible become and frolic. Perhaps Vor became a "god" there. Edited June 15, 2014 by MegaSnail

Would that mean the Void is... Sentient? See where I'm going here? It wasn't happy that the Orokin were Tresspassing in it. So it tried to kill them. And Vor's not happy that we're Tresspassing.. So he tried to kill us. And if it didn't like the Orokin why bother keeping their structures intact within itself? Edited June 15, 2014 by Gaminus

Cocopeli Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) read mags codex text. the sentients are some kind of alien race and the orokin used the void to let their ships fly to other stars. a bit like the warp in warhammer 40.000. and the solar rails are some kind of accelerator-rail to send ships through the void. this explains the "trespassers" quote Edited June 15, 2014 by Cocopeli

The void is itself, it is used to break the the limits of normal entities. For all we know one hour in the void could be one second in real time. The Sentient, the way I see it (or like to see it), aren't alive. I believe they're just a race of robots that can do anything they want... seeing as the technocyte Virus can not effect them.

Keep in mind he does not call the Janus key Orokin, he calls it "The Void's Janus Key" The Orokin and the Void are two very opposing things. Oh he does then! The Void's Janus Key... well, that can explain a lot. What he holds is the beginning of the Void. Perhaps Vor became a god.

The Technocyte virus can infect robots and biological entities with equal virulence. The sentients cannot be mere robots. No, they're something more strange and esoteric.
skorge Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 The tenno are from the void, the orokin are from the sol system and the sentients are aliens Maybe. Vor is just trying to protect the towers from the tenno since they betrayed the orokin.

Vor is just trying to protect the towers from the tenno since they betrayed the orokin. But he also claims to know and be very intimate with the Void. The Orokin were not. Their strengths were in manipulating Technocyte and Forma. Edited June 15, 2014 by Gaminus
(PSN)Nighthawk_0430 Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Simple way of disproving this theory. Excalibur's codex entry states that ( and this is from the Orokin's POV), ' in our desperation we turned to the void, that blinding hell space where our science and reason failed. We took the twisted few that had returned from that place. We built a frame around them, a conduit of their affliction. Gave them the weapons of the old ways. Gun and blade. A new warrior, a new code was born. These rejects, these Tenno, became our saviors. Warrior-Gods cast in steel and fury striking our enemies in a way they could never comprehend.' If the Void was a sentient stronghold, the Orokin would never have attempted to retrieve the Tenno from there, and the Sentients would have known how the Tenno would have acted, contradicting the last line.
Acos Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Neat theory bro, but that herb is supposed to make you all peaceful and ****. Ash be flippin' out and killing bros left and right :( He ain't no peace soulja of mine!

No. Vor has just gone mad because the Janus key turned him into energy when it reanimated his body. So now he is energy, like he says when he dies. That's it.
Spector3 Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Why do I have an odd feeling Grineer and Corpus are some form of descendants from the Sentients. The whole Void thing however is an odd one for we know its basically drives people to utter insanity or worse, mutate them. Vor is a commander of Grineer why would he care to protect Orokin Artifacts such as their ships? He would rather steal all thats inside, study it, and sell the less useful bits to the Corpus. Its also very clear that Grineer and Corpus (even though many are just clones) seem to be "young" to the universe and we have yet to learn of what race the Lotus herself derives from. Hopefully soon we will learn her past and more in the future... THIS IS MAKING A MAN FAN GIRL ON LORE LIKE ITS DARK SOULS!
OniDax Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 They'd be more likely to be descendants of the Orokin.
