Adelheid.Raziel Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Well, I have not seen many players use Torid, the current design is great, the only thing I would change is the style of shooting. My idea is that instead of being a parabolic shot, like grenade launcher, which was a direct shot (straight line) and while being shot to leave a trail of toxic gas. The speed of the projectile is the same, the type of shot that is loaded, maybe when it be loaded to the maximum, is much faster and cause more damage, able to pierce the enemy when fully loaded, like bows. On impact the projectile explode and make a cloud of gas as it currently does. The design of the projectile, it was like a big bullet with the tip in a spiral, like a screw or spiral caparazon pointy, not round, and of course, with the same organic style. But that's my idea to improve Torid, oh of course take light tilting up having to aim or shoot. I hope you take into account regards... ...and sorry for my bad english :P
IamSound Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Personally, I would prefer it if the torids firing mechanism was the same as angstrums in which if charged it would fire multiple projectiles. It would make the thing a ton more useful as the damage inflicted by the gas really sucks unless you fire more than once in the same spot.
Quizel Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) My thoughts were to make its unique ability better. Change 1. Gas Last twice as long but tics 1/2 as often. (same dps) Change 2. Gas covers 400% larger area. -> OP low level but what endgame gun isnt'? Change 3. As the gas expands from 100% of it's current size to 400%, it becomes less concentrated and does less damage per tic. Alternative Change Option 1. enemies that run through the gas cloud are affected by a dot equal to the total tic dmg of the cloud whether they continue to stand in it or merely pass through it. English seemed fine btw. Your changes could make it much more interesting. I just think it'd be more beneficial to focus on what makes the weapon unqiue. Your ideas are great though for a new corkscrew gun! I like Scoltishwarturtle's idea too. Anything that get the gas spreading around quickly. Edited June 15, 2014 by Quizel
DraydenSama Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Nice idea, Torid need that special something. I mean its special already. Now it has to do something useful.
Aryandis Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I would love the following change: gas clouds become slightly larger and slow enemies.
koolen Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 decrease the base dmg of the 'nade, and increase the gas dmg, and the side of the cloud.
Adelheid.Raziel Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) thx guys maybe to cover the area, what do you think if with the contact with the wall for example the proyectile make fragments like a frag granade, and all fragments throw gas, i dont know, 5 or 6 fragments maybe could be good Edited June 15, 2014 by Senekis
Scar.Heart Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) Original thoughts: Basic buffs torid needs:+ AoE radius increase + DoT scaling w/element mods Tweaks/Buffs I'd personally like to see. + Torid's Direct Hit + AoE slows enemy movement down by 50% for as long as enemies are in cloud. Effects last until enemy leaves the AoE or the cloud dissipates. + Increase projectile size. I don't know about everyone else, but its painful lobbing such a slow, heavy-arc projectile with the hit box of an arrow. Recently, I tried Torid with a Gas build on Infested Defense. Holy. S#&$. The proc chance wasn't that great, but with enough enemies effected by a single gas cloud, the procs were going off like an MPrime chain reaction. I figure if they change Torid to a Gas element as base damage, and then give it a... + AoE increase (around the radius of an Ogris AoE, maybe a meter or two smaller) + Proc chance increase (20%-25% base proc?) + bigger projectile (sucks aiming a slow, hard-arcing projectile that's the size of an arrow : /) It could do some heavy stuff. I'll admit, I'd miss the Toxin damage, but after trying out a Gas-based version on the Infested and seeing the results, I'm quite interested in the first Gas-base elemental weapon. Shelldor Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 the torrid should just shoot like the napalm grineer gun.In a straight line in the form of a gas trail. When it hits the stage or target with will stay there and cause aoe toxin for around 10 seconds.
