Aktriaz Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 It makes no sense that players are rewarded by the faction they are siding against, so I propose that both of the weapons that can only be obtained through having assassins sent after them be put into the Invasion reward pool. Shouldn't sending assassins like the Harvester and Grustrag Three discourage players from messing with them, rather than encourage?? I get that if the assassins have no rewards for defeating them, most would just exit the mission so they don't have to deal with them, so here's my solution to that problem; give them rare mod drops, like multi-shot mods or even the Tethra set, still giving people a reason to farm them... just not one more than the other. Move the Detron (buff it to be as good as the Brakk, so history doesn't repeat itself) parts and BP to Corpus battlepay, and the Brakk parts and BP to Grineer battlepay, and give the Harvester and Grustrag-Three rare mods, like multishot, or even the Tethra set. A solution to fix the currently broken invasion has to be made eventually...
Warriorrogue Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Well, they hardly intend that you're going to kill the assassins, are they? That's what happens, but it's not the intended result, no?
(PSN)ToughGuy051 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 They already have rare and multishot mods. The only pain is there low spawn rate 3percent max and then a low chance at the parts. Two layers of rng. Which equals much me in the face.
OverlordMcGeek Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 how bout no? it makes it a challenge(if you weak) to get the parts. this would be far to easy at least the current way its set up is a less painfull slap to the face to those who dragged on for the 100 missions to get the brakk in the first place.

This ^ And boy was it painful, feel bad for the corpus supporters..
APBladeX Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 How about invasion battle pay has a Brakk/Detron part, but the difficulty is increased to a Massacre/Annihilation gametype I proposed long ago? This mode would be similar to Alad V's Suspicious Shipment Exterminations, but the amount of enemies is increased dramatically, like real invasions. Also, instead of the Grustrag Three or the Harvester coming after you randomly with more RNG involved, they are guaranteed to spawn on the 5th run?

You'd think they'd notice that the moment they deploy the assassins they start losing all of their territory, right? They can't be THAT stupid... right? how bout no? it makes it a challenge(if you weak) to get the parts. this would be far to easy at least the current way its set up is a less painfull slap to the face to those who dragged on for the 100 missions to get the brakk in the first place. Yeah, like that time I finally that last Orthos prime blade LITERALLY a day before they fixed the Void drop tables. Gripping to the notion that just because an Item was extremely hard to get at one point means it should be hard to get forever may be damaging to the game as a whole, don't you think? Void was heart-wrenchingly terrible to farm, but now they changed it to be... less so. Players who ran the 100 missions in the Gravidus dilemma got to play with the best shotgun-pistol in the game before everyone else. Also, Time and RNG isn't a challenge. Anyone with a CC power (Radial Blind, Sonic Boom, Chaos etc GG) can take on the G3, and the Harvester is just a push over.

(PSN)STARSIDE_DESTINY Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 It makes perfect sense the way it is now. You're not being rewarded for defeating them, you're stealing the parts and blueprint from their corpses. The problem isn't assassins themselves, but assassin spawn rates. It should be at least 10% chance with 4 marked people, 3% is far too low.

Neither the Harvester, nor any of the G3 use a weapon close to the Brakk or Detron (Hek = Brakk?). Can you come up with a good reason for the Grineer to strap pieces of a shotgun pistol to their backs, IF NOT to reward their killers? Second, the only reason you should send elite soldiers or assassins to wipe out a smaller raiding faction is to either eliminate them or at least discourage them from fighting you any more. This has done the opposite. The factions are losing because they are creating elite soldiers/assassins. If the Grineer stopped sending the G3 after people, they would start winning again.

The Harvester is implied to be built from spare Detrons after the Gradivus Dilemma (I know the devs were joking, but it's the closest thing we have to lore right now). As for the G3, who knows, maybe their Sentinel's weapon is a Brakk. There doesn't really have to be a reason for them to drop the weapons aside from the fact that it's a video game. The assassins are bosses, so they give a reward. I know that it's a bad system, I even addressed it originally. The problem is assassins, it's the RNG that blocks them and the imbalance of the rewards- Brakk is far more powerful than Detron, plus the G3 drop a bunch of rare mods and resources.
