Something noteworthy about prime sets is that many contain 4, and some even 5 parts. Sets are often sold as a whole, despite there only being 3 trading slots. My suggestion is similar to that of another game, "Runescape", made by Jagex, which allows you to take a complete "set" (for example, dakra prime bp, blade, and handle), and "box them" up to be sold as a single item. This would help prevent potential scamming of one or more item in the set, by allowing people in Warframe to sell full sets in one trade, as opposed to having to split up everything in multiple trades, which poses the risk of items being "stolen" (note the quotes) if performed incorrectly or hastily.

the boxed items would take up more than one of your allotted trades if, in-fact, there are more than 3 items in the set (example: full paris prime set would take up two trades to sell, even boxed as one item). This keeps the trade quota system intact while again, allowing less scamming potential, AND allowing a more convenient method of trading entire sets.

For the most part (or maybe I just got lucky with my trading), I haven't seen or even heard about much scamming within our community. Still, it would be a nice idea. Three slots is too small for some weapon sets.

as much as i despise runescape, i agree this is a good idea.

Agreed there, but while the gameplay is a drag, they do have a good trading system (minus the whole "grand exchange" dealeo that i won't bother elaborating on)

I haven't either, but it is better to pull the weeds  before they can grow... trust me... some of them are quite wirey and really mess up your hands...

I did a trade earlier, and it went completely fine, but I bet I wasn't the only side that was worried about getting scammed. We're a good community, but the fact is that it does happen.
