trst Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) TL;DR: Vor is a fun fight but feels very underpowered to be placed in t4 missions but for him to be buffed would require his hit boxes and ai to be far more consistent and predictable. SPAWNING Supposedly Vor is intended to have a low spawn rate after your first t4 mission, however, I have fought him in every t4 mission I have ran. He seems to be forced to spawn in you just spend enough time in the mission. I assume the spawning every time is not intended but if it is to change then I believe the idea that people have been tossing around of having there be a t4 Assassination key would work, plus it would allow for a more expanded boss fight. BUT if there was a t4 assassination then Vor should still have a chance to spawn in every other t4 just for the sake of the added difficulty, farming opportunity, and the sheer fun of it. HEALTH I've been fighting Vor with a Supercharged non-Forma'd Dread which can kill him in <20 arrows, even less if I place a Viral proc on him beforehand. While the freedom to be able to build really 'overpowered' weapons is something that aids in making Warframe enjoyable, being able to kill him with something that has so little effort put in to it does not seem fitting for what is the most difficult missions the game currently has to offer. Vor's only weak spot, his 'core', has a very dodgy hit box. I've found it nearly impossible to consistently melee it. If the hit box on it could be made more consistent then having his health buffed to more appropriate values would be much more fitting for the expected difficulty. DAMAGE The amount of damage that Vor does is honestly rather pathetic, I'm pretty sure you could tank him with a Loki using Team Health Restores alone. Compared to the damage that everything else in t4 missions does I'm more concerned at killing the Orokin Drones than dealing with Vor. His damage could use a serious buff but with this then his constant random teleporting and AOE knockdown would just make him an annoying and 'unfair' fight. For his damage to be buffed he would defiantly need some form of ai change or a more predictable and consistent teleport. LORE The Vor fight overall from his very appearance to his dialogue have stirred a fair few theories and implications. I can only hope that DE expands on it in u14 with the fight against pre-corrupted Vor earning the player their ship followed up by the hunt for him (I recall this being what DE has planned for him, I could be mistaken). CaptainJohnson Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I made a thread about his spawn rate a few days ago and largely agree with you there, but I don't know if I agree about buffing his damage & health. The problem with Vor is that he's not optional (or at least, he's not in most of the missions where you'll encounter him) like the G3 is. This means that whatever loadout you bring to the mission, you'll have to use to deal with him. If he required those overpowered weapons to take down, then you'd be forced to bring a selection of a dozen or so weapons to take him down, and everyone would be running the same stuff. Even for T4, that's a little ridiculous-- not everyone is going to be trying for 60+ minutes on T4S or anything crazy like that. His teleportation and unpredictability are what make him somewhat more difficult, but because of the nature of his attacks, a serious damage buff would render several frames useless in T4. If anything, his damage is fine as it is. I understand that Vor presents himself as a potentially fun challenge to endgame players (and he did to myself the first time or two I fought him), but he's not really in a position to be a truly difficult fight at this point. I think that if his spawn rate was significantly toned down, then he could stand to be a little more difficult, but not significantly.
