I think this time, he means exclusives for a certain timeframe, that would be exclusive to THOSE specific means of aquirment. Like how armour is exclusive to platinum, and the Proto Armour is exclusive to the anniversary date.

This might have been canon at some point, but DE moved away from that a long time ago. There are actually hints about how the Tenno were created in the Codex and none of them involve the Infestation.

I mainly got that from Darksector from the way Hayden was infected, also this way would be terribly ineffecient. I think that the infestation thing only happened to the first ones.

Ember Prime's codex more or less confirms that the Tenno aren't advanced infested, as the character featured in the Codex met Tenno that weren't in suits yet. As for Dark Sector - Warframe is a spiritual successor to Dark Sector and not a sequel. Their plots aren't and probably never will be directly linked so much so that Dark Sector's answers work in Warframe. It's all loving references and cute little winks because we know things and they know we do. Lore is always in a stat of flux. Nothing is nailed down yet.

It should always be available. Well exclusive cosmetics don't bother me, or timed releases for that matter. I like the idea that I might have something that someone else didn't get and they might show up with something I didn't get. Makes it feel more unique. Mods and stuff are a bit different. Off topic: I get the feeling that the only direct connection to Dark Sector is probably a research one. The orokin probably found some ancient research referring to Tenno and made modified versions of the Technocyte virus to make the modern infestation. They additionally used that research to make biosuits that utilize technocyte modified organic parts to interact with the void altered humans.
