So the maximum status chance right now is 100%.

That's good and all, but I think it could be better.

 

lets say that you have a 120% chance apply a status effect.

In this situation you would end up with a 100% chance to apply a status effect and a 20% chance to apply a Critical Status Effect!

 

Critical status effects would be more potent versions of the normal status effects.

 

===Critical Status Effects===

Impact: Knocks the enemy back, and trips anyone hit by it.
Puncture: Greater weaken percentage.
Slash: Greater bleed percentage.

Heat: The panic lasts for the full duration.
Cold: Greater slow percentage.
Electricity: Enemies that are hit by arcing lightning will be stunned as well.
Toxin: Reduced time between damage ticks.

Blast: Larger AoE.
Corrosive: Applies 2 stacks of corrosion instead of 1.
Gas: Larger AoE.
Magnetic: Partially drains the shields of surrounding enemies as well.
Radiation: The affected enemy will take a percentage of the damage it deals for the duration.
Viral: Lasts much longer.

 

Obviously this would be hard to achieve when using the mods we have right now.

But if we raise the effects of the status mods, so that they can compete with the damage mods, then it should be possible.

 

Rifle Aptitude 25/40/55/70/85/100% Status chance.
Shotgun Savvy 25/40/55/70/85/100% Status chance.
Sure Shot 25/40/55/70/85/100% Status chance.
Melee Prowess 25/40/55/70/85/100% Status chance.

 

I don't believe that this would be OP, because status chance builds aren't that powerful.

 

But an alternative way of doing 100%+ status chance could be to give you a chance to apply two status effects in one shot!

A 120% chance weapon In this situation you would end up with a 100% chance to apply 1 status effect and a 20% chance to apply 2 status effects.

Umm.. This would kinda break Tysis which can get 100% (over actualy) status as it is, are we going to add ultra crit status as well? as I'm fairly sure it would be possible to get it over 200%. Also given this insane stat chance it would totaly make Tysis the most broken gun in the game.

Don't make it a critical.....just don't. If we were to somehow get a 120% status chance (as it caps at 100% chance), then it should be 100% chance to inflict a status proc and a 20% chance to apply a second proc. (just like how multishot mods work)
