This cause from stats of weapons and mods are far more higher than melee weapons and even melee has disadvantage from range. This makes huge gap for now in high tier mission melee still needs more buff from basic stats or mods or it should have 10 mod slots like warframes. Why not? Its already have a aura(stance) slot and it made melee seems fancy but actually its not giving huge advantage. Stances have to be tweaked and melee should have to get buff far more. any ideas?

And this is warframe not real life. Shame though that melee weapons have a much shorter range.

(multishot being what it is) additional slots would help, but it's more of a band-aid than a solution. currently, melee is very useful against trash mobs. (non heavies) but when mobs break level 50 or so, melee becomes mostly pointless.

In my honest opinion, melee is perfectly balanced, guns are the ones that overkill. Melee is hugely viable now because of the parrying mechanic and energy infusion thingy , just the that some veteran players need onw more way to overkill and rek everything in sight with a sword. Can uou do finishers with gun? Can you slam your gun aoe style? Can you copter with a gun ? Melee is great, DE did a great job. And all the playersvthat jumped in yhe u 13 hype train and felt dissapointed are too shallow to realise that the way of the sword is a great and (make sure you remeber this word) FUUUUN alternative to guns.

"The rifle is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep your distance from the client. The closer you get to being a pro, the closer you can get to the client. The knife, for example, is the last thing you learn."

And if only usage of melee became copter, it is not balanced Looking fancy does not includes in balance. Style doesn't solve the gap of performance parry still has its limits its only blocks when you have stamina and what is the point if you cant kill even if you closed with the enemy with your parry? and even in the void T4 towers this gap is clearly shown this is not became the matter of low ranked players

I can easily solo up to around level 60. I can easily solo up to level 80 if you let me use Hysteria. There are melee weapons out there that kick insane amounts of &#!. I promise. They don't need a buff. Goodbye /thread

(whopping 5 seconds of stealth) i spend more time melee-ing than not. the point i was making above was that after levels 50+ you're spending an inordinate amount of time killing something with melee when you can 2-3 shot it with any decent ranged weapon. trash mobs can still be mowed down quickly with melee, but heavies can ruin your day at those levels when using melee with a paper frame. (like loki) i'm not hung up on this mythical "balance" that most people seem to try to find, and i like the system as it is. and fallen_angel is right, most players don't go much past 50. so for the larger audience this entire thread doesn't really apply.

The3doM Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) melee still just isn't viable at all. forget melee against higher lvl enemies - you just get punched in your face for trying to make some close-combat action, which in my opinion just sucks, because you're not getting rewarded for facing the enemy but rather knocked down (when you don't want to spend all your energy on that little dmg buff and some knockdown-resist...) or energy-drained. also stances ar far too uncontrollable and slow, and the hit-counter fades away much to fast to be any worth it in my opinion, so i personally went back to the simple 'E' attack...or well, simply use my ranged weapons.. hopefully DE recognizes these issues and is currently working on a solution. And I'm pretty sure it's possible with other frames too.

I can solo up to level 60 WITHOUT Hysteria. Level 60. That's further than a lot of players go. How on earth do melee weapons need balancing?
