Option To Shift To First-Person Perspective When Aiming

An option to toggle first-person perspective when aiming your weapon.

So the camera is over-the-shoulder third-person normally, but when you aim, it shifts to first-person, like this:

Just so you don't have your warframe taking up a third of the screen to the left or right when trying to make an accurate shot.

In case you missed it:

THIS WOULD BE ENTIRELY OPTIONAL

I wouldn't like this personally. If it were optional, okay fine, but I like the third-person thing Warframe has going on. First-person is just not my cup of tea.

That's why the word "option" is there, more support for a large variety of players.

I just don't like enemies being able to hide in front of my warframe due to camera position.

No thank you. It would be too wierd, going from a full picture of your warframe, to immediately a gun middle of the screen and no warframe at all. The animation would be too jarring

DE can at least experiment with this as an optional thing. I know on PC it will attract more people. Simple thing to do about animations and glitches is to hide them in that view, lots of other games do it :/

Firefall has the third-person to first-person shift and I think it works fine.

Disable rendering of the warframe model when going into first person.

I guess that would make a lot of sense. The only issue is it would probably impact the performance, with all the model parts & polygons constantly rendering and dissappearing again.. but I suppose there would be a workaround.

Yeah, I had selective reading when I read it before.

If it's optional and not going to effect me, then sure, I'm fine with it. But, there are other things that are more important.

That actually happens a lot during 3D rendering in most game engines. When things are off-screen, they're not being rendered (yes, you have to tell something offscreen to not render, else it'll eat up performance doing nothing visible). You'll notice warframe already does this when ancients hit you with their stretchy arms and suddenly turn invisible, since they're being registered as out-of-camera.

The dojo trading kiosk, as well. If you slowly pan your camera so the kiosk moves out of view, you'll see it blink away, due to it being removed from rendering prematurely.

Yeah that's what I meant, the increased load isn't the best idea when the DE's have mentioned improving the FPS on low-tier systems, and I guess the player character model has priority over the other models also. But then again, I guess it is pretty minor, and wouldn't be too hard to implement.

I don't care if it's an 'optional' thing or not, it's pointless to take resources that can be used to create new weapons, mods, frames, missions, bug fixes, and basically anything else in this game, and create something that 95% of the community wouldn't use it care about

Resources? Any decent programmer and even designer can do this in about 5 minutes (since I am assuming the Evolution engine is based on the Unreal engine), take an extra 10 minutes and you removed clipping and everything but the gun from being showed. In about an hour you can get a decent ADS movement, possibly not accurate with no clipping issues except maybe the arms.
