With the addition of Loki Prime we have reached a stage where obtaining any specific item from the void requires luck.

No amount of skill will help you here, it all comes down to a random number generated by a computer returning the right value that corresponds to the item you want.

The answer, replace random number generation with a system that rewards you for either skill or more likely endurance:

1. Remove all Prime parts and blueprints from the void

2. Replace the drops with a token of some kind, with a degree of variation according to difficulty

3. Create a new section of the market where tokens can be traded for blueprints of the prime items / prime parts

4. Require one or more argon crystals for each of the parts

It provides the required, artificial restriction on the acquisition of prime items, but means that eventually you are guaranteed the item you want.

Now, obviously this doesn't address the other key issue: players stockpiling the tokens and buying everything right off the bat and thus having nothing to do.

I have a suggestion for this as well...add cosmetic items from past Prime Access to this shop but with a very high cost. For example if a normal item was 50 tokens, the syandana etc. would be more like 500.

The idea here is that the hard-core should have something to work towards that is purely cosmetic but acts as a reward for their dedication.

I've seen this idea mentioned several times in the past (even up to 9 months ago, but obviously that didn't include argon or prime access gear), but I have always agreed to this sort of addition to the game. Sadly, it has just never happened.

EDIT: I had forgotten, but the guy below me is right, it's far too late now after the introduction of prime part trading to place in such a change, even though it would've been better.

this would annihilate all prime trading and a source of platinum income for most players that don't spent cash.

it would also mean that running different modes of void missions is pointless. (meaning everybody will just run whatever mode gives the most tokens or the least amount of time required to complete)

the real solution is to fix up the drop percentages to be something less rage-inducing. (like the community has been asking for months)

the hot-fix after the patch that reduced duplication is a step in the right direction.

change drop rates to no less than 15% chance per item. excepting the current "prime access" items.

leave those rare-as-hell to incentivize prime access purchases.

once this round  of prime-access is over, those items become standard 15% drop rate lowest chance and the new prime access items become the new unicorns.

this would be fair, to the community as well as DE.

Would be nicer than the grind-to-get system.

1) Grind some maps to get keys

2) Grind some keys to get parts until you don't have any more keys, but you are not guaranteed any useful-for-you drops.

Repeat.

This really seems to be the best solution.
