Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 so with the infested seemingly getting a sentient "leader" (in alad v) does that mean we get to support the infested in invasions and could the infested take over star chart locations. i wanted to support them from the beginning and its always made me a little bit mad we couldn't but i understood from a lore stand point (no one to give a reward). but would every ones opinion be if that made it in am i alone?
Ghostar Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I highly doubt we would get to support them EVER, Infested have always been "evil" if you notice in Invasion missions, if you get to the evac point BEFORE everything is killed Lotus says something about "Even our enemies don't deserve to be infested" so I doubt she would ever allow any Tenno to side with something THAT evil.
Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 ah but with alad focusing them on targets i think we couldhe has a specific vendeta against the corpus so he would want to attack them we are also against the corpus why cant we work together on that
immolator1001 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Alad V isn't controlling the infested they infested are controlling him. It's a trope. (Mad scientist appears to be controlling horrible thing, turns out horrible thing is controlling them). Edited June 19, 2014 by immolator1001
Katakuna Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 The lore can work around the gameplay. Especially in its incredibly infantile state. I fully support fighting for the Infested.
Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 it doesnt change the fact they have something sentient to speak for them ...and give rewards
Joyfulmama Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 If Salad really does take over the Infested and start to invade everywhere........sounds like Kerrigan and Zerg from Starcraft 2 to me
immolator1001 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 it doesnt change the fact they have something sentient to speak for them ...and give rewards They won't give rewards, the infested exist solely to consume everything. They don't strike deals they simply assimilate. It is considered better to be dead than infested, the Dual Ether even have a part in their description about how they are considered a humane way to kill the infested.
Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 personaly i view all the factions of this game as three of the races in star trek. the klingons, the ferengi, and the borg (ill let you decide which is which) while yes it would be stupid to support the infested its a game we are independant tenno we should be able to do what we want (btw i don't view the tenno as the federation in that analogy maybe were the kardasians maybe not)
Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 oh another thing why isnt there a group trying to cure the infested theres always stupid people like that
OniDax Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Alad V will probably only be controlling the Infested Corpus stuff.

You saw what happened to Rotten Salad, thats what happens when you team up with the infested... oh another thing why isnt there a group trying to cure the infested theres always stupid people like that Really? Does any of this look "curable?" Even if you somehow got rid of all the infested what would you do with their mangled corpses? Most of them have had their limbs converted into something else. Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Really? Does any of this look "curable?" it was just a thought
CY13ERPUNK Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) the infested already have a sentient "leader" they are not dumb monsters, they are a hivemind and they share consciousness across all of them, some of them just have more advanced methods of communication but killing any of the many chargers/runners/etc is just akin to someone cutting off yer little toe or something, no real serious loss or danger to the larger host additionally the infested are not "evil" they are simply driven to a singular purpose, ala the zerg, tyrannids, etc, to absorb all other sentient life into itself (and since the technocyte virus is a nano-plague, they can interface with machines as well as organics) Edited June 19, 2014 by CY13ERPUNK
Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) if its a nano-plague and can infest machines why hasnt there been any yet with the hordes of corpus infested all the new infested the showed co exist with machines and havnt infested them Edited June 19, 2014 by Swiftfingers
ARavenousPanda Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 because its the technocyte virus. It didnt affect machines, though i tihnk they are adapting to. They could only affect living flesh.
Katakuna Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 You saw what happened to Rotten Salad, thats what happens when you team up with the infested... Did you know that the incoming new armor set is Infested-themed? There will be Tenno out there who willingly wear Infested bits on themselves.
Rhundis Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 That isn't an equivalent analogy... You saw what happened to Rotten Salad, thats what happens when you team up with the infested... Really? Ever watch a show called "Generator Rex"? Same basic concept, nano bots go rampant and cause big mutations, nano bots get reset and revert host to original form. Its sci-fi anything is possible.
Els236 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 perhaps the infested are evil from a lore point of view, but have you noticed how the stalker's lore sort of says the Tenno are also evil? I think it would be cool to at least have the choice to side with the infested!
TrashSpider Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Ever watch a show called "Generator Rex"? Same basic concept, nano bots go rampant and cause big mutations, nano bots get reset and revert host to original form. Its sci-fi anything is possible. Yes I seen the show. But I don't think we have that sort of concept in the WF world. Its either turn infested, or we become immune to the T-Virus and become Tenno. *Though we need to be expose to the void...
Oystar Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) this is the future im sure they have made huge advancements if medical technology think about it we have disks that emanate an energy that heals us and i garentee you that's the bottom of the barrel with the corpus and there technological mind set i garentee you they are past anything we've seen in any science fiction so far Edited June 19, 2014 by Swiftfingers
RancidTurnip1603 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Alad V isn't controlling the infested, if he could why would he have contained them in the Suspicious Shipments alert? He's simply using them as means to an end. Also, robotics are being infested along with the crewmen if what we saw in Dev Stream 30 is still being implemented (which it is). The Technocyte virus in Dark Sector and the one in Warframe are two completely different entities, the one in Dark Sector turns flesh into metal, while the iteration in Warframe grows fleshy appendages. So using Dark sector lore as Warframe lore is fallacious.
