Mutalist Ospreys - Be Wary Of Doing Odd Now

Well I can now call ODD pretty terrifying. I joined one to try and get a boltor prime reciever, our party consisted of a Vauban, a Loki, a Nova, and me as Nekros. Now originally I didn't think that these things were that much of a hinderance as they didn't cause much trouble in both the alerts that I did and the breeding grounds alert. About 10 to 15 waves in we were starting to get a bit annoyed of the new enemies (our Loki in particular) but I didn't think they were to bad. Then it got worse, 20 or so popped up each round, the entire floor around the cyro-pod was a basic death trap made of toxins. Heck our Vauban went down a few times from his sniping vantage point from them. We ended up having to bail out by wave 30 because were practically going down 30 secs inbetween each other. In short just be careful of going to ODD or any defense against infested. Also it is quite nice to have a challenge (that being basically a mustard gas field of doom). Thanks for the new enemy/challenge DE!

o.o psh it was easy before I say its better now. Since your no longer just sitting there destroying them like its no prob till wave 50 or so. So overall I say its better teaches people not to try to go for too long just so they can farm exp XD

They are definitely gonna make an impact on how we handle Infested....I seriously hate ospreys with a passion so let's wipe them towards extinction, Tenno!

My only issue with them is that they sometimes do nothing but move at max speed for extended periods of time, making them borderline immortal since you can't land a single shot on an erratically moving target flying all over at 50 mph.

wow just did odd died in an instant with those toxins, WTF ? max redirection and max health, now that just ruined all the fun !!

 

I vote nay for these new ospreys, no more ospreys please, something DIFFERENT.

My only issue with them is that they sometimes do nothing but move at max speed for extended periods of time, making them borderline immortal since you can't land a single shot on an erratically moving target flying all over at 50 mph.

this is indeed correct...i was running with some friends and we stopped at wave 15 only because we couldnt target them as much as we wanted to. max speed..more like mach speed

the problem with them is that there is no new or impoved rewards, its harder....but the reward isnt really worth it....i mean......until a R5 fusion core can NEVER be a reward....ODDs are kinda pointless

the new ospreys are stupid op..they shouldnt have both speed and damage, should be one or the other..and their hitbox really does need to be larger..

Yeah? Well Nova has both speed and damage, but she's not so OP anymore. That's because any enemy that slows her down or hits her with a radial attack (napalm) will kill her easily. Use your abilities against these dudes and you should be fine.

ODD was never really used for anything other than exp :S well and for that boltor prime receiver. Exp gain off of ODD was too easy now its a challenge

sechura is OP now too, it was hilarious that me and 2 other random guys all went there to train provas and didnt think twice, no one brought any primary guns....must have been like 40 downs that game

 

edit: oh and the shadows are awesome, minions dropping minions

DE is just going to have to tweak the spawn rate on these things. In their current design there should probably be a limit the number that can spawn at a time, otherwise their mechanics are counter-able enough. (perhaps fix the erratic movment issues some though)

Take an Ash with max power efficiency and Shurikens.

died in an instant? Your not built right then. I can stand inbetween several ancient toxins at level 30 without going down. Its a special kind of build that survives any kind of toxic damage, but I will keep it a secret. Lets just say... SHINIGAMI NEKROS STRIKES AGAIN!!! Or at least the style does now that I applied it to my other frames.
