(PSN)gosaints123 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 As a PS4 user and long-time Teno, I feel we are overshadowed by our PC counterparts. I understand there are difficulties with rolling the updates over to the console, but will there ever be a day when we get content the same day as PC or is that too much to ask for? For what It's worth, I think you guys are doing a wonderful job with the game.

They could atleast release updates sooner. We get an update once a month if we are lucky. Meanwhile, PC gets one every week. PS4 isn't as easy to program for, I understand that. But that's kinda overkill on the time gap.

The updates they do for PS4 have to be sent to Sony for approval as well. So if Sony drags their feet then we get slower updates as well. I've played this game for a while now and there's enough to do between the release of updates. Not sure what you're complaining for, since the PC and PS4's aren't even connected so it doesn't really matter if they get updates earlier than us. Unless you're talking about sour grapes...then...well... all i can say is be patient.

Sony needs to approve all content that appears on their console and we cannot control how long that process takes. We are always working to get the updates to you as fast as possible. A silver lining to being on PS4 is you get the new content as well as all the hotfixes that go out from the time the content is released on PC and when we send the build to Sony for approval.

I have every Prime weapon and frame built, tons of keys, every Stance mod I want, most of the codex done, and have Forma'd most of my favorite weapons multiple times for the best builds possible, almost every weapon built and leveled with the ones I don't have at 30 just sitting in the Foundry. We just go through content faster than they can pump it out.

It's the fact that we are kept completely in the dark until DE decides we deserve an update on the progress. Until then it's anybody's guess. PC gets updates constantly. I am just bringing up that I would appreciate the same treatment. I'm not saying we get treated horribly, but its not equal to how DE treats PC players.

If not, just chill and do something else dude. Honestly, this is the only good game on PS4 at the moment. We just have to wait til' they add more once we are done with the pat update. U13.7 is coming soon which is kinda getting closer to PC's build. Which is nice, but the question is will they keep it close or let it distance out?

What about Account migration, something that is been going on for ages , promises promises. Account migration won't happen unless the 2 builds are close to in sync. Bugs that hunted the PC players hunt the PS4 players as well, problem is , PS4 has to wait way longer to get them fixed compared to the hot fixes PC gets.

That is not totally true tho is it, how long has 13.7 and previous builds been out. Instead of submitting big build to Sony you could also submit smaller build to for PS4 which would have less wait times than what is currently being done. It seems the only time PS4 is getting a build is when it includes an event ...

That's not true, PS4 is actually one of the easier systems to program for now, the difficult structure that PS3 had is removed. Problem here is that there is a tiny team working on PS4 for DE and they hold builds and combine them together instead of submitting intermediate releases for PS4. That is where the hold up is.

Programming is not a walk in the park, and you shouldn't type as if DE can just wave a magic wand. They do not ignore us because they enjoy making our section of the community feel neglected, they are trying to do their job. Recently DE Drew has kept us somewhat updated on Ps4 build progress, at least they are trying.

People need to tone down this sourness between PC and PS4. Well, didn't they say the updates need to be in-sync for crossplay and/or account migration? It seems worth it to delay an update for a few weeks (since the difference usually seems to be around there) to allow the systems to be linked finally. Crossplay was one of the original promises for the PS4 release as I recall. Obviously, it would necessitate working on both at the same time instead of doing one then porting it (if that is how it works now).
(PSN)japaneselonewolf Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 A member from Warframe's staff provided a very good, direct and honest explanation, and other than I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone cares about PC getting updates before us, even though they beta test for us, and find bugs that get fixed before we have to deal with them, I agree with vain_c. Turn in your software development resume to DE and apply for a position. Then demonstrate to the rest of us how the software development life cycle should be performed. Obviously for those who continue to complain, you must know something we software developers and I.T. personnel have yet to comprehend. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the knowledge the majority of bugs PC have to deal with are fixed before we receive the code and our updates contains those fixes. And as others also stated, go play something else in the meantime. Or actually venture outside and get some sunshine and fresh air. Exercise. Read a book. Watch a movie. Anything but whine about how the grass is always greener on the other side.
(PSN)Hooligonzo Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Man - Tenno to Tenno - stress less about the update lag behind PC, and more about Console Exclusive parity with PC. PC has a LOT of really awesome toys that we'll never get to touch.
