VoidenTaylor Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) What Melee Event is good ? Machete Wraith Gradivus Dillema Event Grineer Prova Vandal Gradivus Dilemma Corpus but changed to the event Breeding Grounds Edited June 20, 2014 by UltimateBR
Taikaponi Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Umm... Are you comparing the weapons or the events?
Xandis Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Not sure about Prova, haven't tried it out, but Mach. W is a great weapon with it's VV polarity.
Detheroc Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Both use same stance, its really just a question what you prefer. Some people really detest base elemental weapons.
The_Sharp_Demonologist Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Well i have used the Prova quite alot and if the Vandal version is an Improvement compared to it then it should a god killer when properly modded. As you know Electric can create some of the best elemental combos (Radiation, Corrosive and Blast) so the Prova Vandal should be as good Killing Grineer as the machete Wraith is at killing Corpus and Infested.
xlraistlx Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) Using these mods, on both weapons, against grineer We have a higer damage per swing on Prova Vandal (1025.01 1465.76) over Machete Wraith (1093.34). Machete has a higher firerate (1.43 to 1.30). Thus giving a higher dps to Machete wraith (1465.76) over Prova Vandal (1421.34). Prova would have double the proc chance (44%) over machete (22%) They're both pretty similar, so I'd say is personal preference. Edit: Forgot to mention Provandal would need a forma to fit the mods, while Machete Wraith has 7 points left without forma. Edited June 20, 2014 by xlraistlx

The loss of attack speed isn't too bad when combined with Fury. Just my 2cents. Edited June 20, 2014 by Lag_Killed_You_Not_Me

Just my 2cents. I myself had it but Darkz (couldn't put the member tag) made me realize you hit harder per swing but the decreased 20% speed results in a loss in DPS. Archistopheles Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Electric damage Vs Slash damage Can't really compare the two.
weirdee Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) I have to question why Machete Wraith has two polarized slots and Prova Vandal gets zero.... either way you don't need them (it's better to pile on hybrid proc mods to spread the love) but I'm just asking since it doesn't make sense Edited June 20, 2014 by weirdee
xlraistlx Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I have to question why Machete Wraith has two polarized slots and Prova Vandal gets zero... Becasuse they're different weapons. *Flies away*
CybrinZ Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Well i have used the Prova quite alot and if the Vandal version is an Improvement compared to it then it should a god killer when properly modded. Blast is Ice + Fire. You're thinking of Magnetic (Ice+Electric). o3o On that note, Prova Vandal has a pretty decent status rate. With two of the status dual stat mods, that's close to 50% proc rate. That works pretty good with the elemental combos that Prova is inherently able to create. Its good with base electric as well, due to the stun effect of Electricity
Taikaponi Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Electric damage Vs Slash damage Can't really compare the two. That is why you mod your weapons -.-
Archistopheles Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 That is why you mod your weapons -.- No matter what you do, you can't add slashing damage to Prova. :)
datguyskee Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Why not replace Smite Grineer with Spoiled Strike in that build? The loss of attack speed isn't too bad when combined with Fury. Just my 2cents. Because the Smite Grineer mod (bane mod) will increase both the base damage and elemental damage of a weapon. The damage increases from faction damage mods affect the base damage of a weapon, instead of adding additional 'elemental' damage. Faction damage mods stack multiplicatively with other mods, thus increasing all damage.
Ravyel Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) I think it should also be mentioned that the Prova Vandal kind of wins out in CC a bit more because when it uses the ground slam attacks in Sundering Weave it creates the same electric proc shockwaves that the Obex does (and from what little I've seen it will always proc electric on those attacks regardless of the element you have modded for it). Cynick Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Honestly, you're not going to be using either of them for damage as there are better weapons for that, right? The Prova does however have a high base status chance which can be increased to over 50% per hit so can be used to proc Corrosive and Blast in a pinch.
