OcelotVampire Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Am I the only person who thinks that spending all this time and effort on this a bad thing? I personaly am not a dog person. It was my understanding a while back that the devs said no we cannot add emotes or dancing because it did not fit into the warframe universe, yet raising animals does? So let me get this straight, I can have my sentinel that can snipe enemies and recharge my shields, OR I can have a dog that sits there licking himself instead. Tough call. So we'll be in wave 35 on a def mission and need our frost to globe the pod and instead he's petting his dog while saying "who's a good boy". Awesome. All this so I can have a dog that digs up the ground for 100 extra ferrite? Wow the pay off. Or runs and jumps an enemy that I probably could have killed 10 times before it got close to it? Count me in for playing fetch with my dog and my penta. My only hope is that we can eject our unwanted pets into space. Then it might all be worth it. What's that newly formed ring around earth? Oh, it's all my unwanted kobrows. I think you guys are going WAY too far with this whole raising animal thing and listening to the wrong people here. Sure it might be cute to have a pet dog, but this isn't hello kitty island warframe here. If you want to raise virtual pets, there are plenty of games out there that have a better selection of pets to offer. This is a space ninja game, lets try and keep it that way. We could have had many of the other features promised by now if not for wasting time on adding dogs to the game. I would like prime everything instead. I'd like more cinematics, more lore, more enemies, new weapons, new frames. Not smelly dogs that stink up my ship and pee in the corner because I smacked it too many times with my rolled up tenno newspaper. P.S. sorry for all the aggresion towards this, I've just held my tongue for too long on this matter and it seems you guys are dumping more and more into this feature. Maybe I'd be more onboard with it if we could get a pet eagle or something instead.
SquirmyBurrito Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 I agree, we don't need dogs. We need Cats!!!
Dualstar Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Youre well within your right to not pursue theese doglike things when theyre added to the game.
Lunaticked Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 I for one demand dog packs. Specifically to piss off OP more.
Uzpian Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Change the title to "MY Warframe Does Not Need Dogs".
Toaman1994 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Oh come on, man. Watch_Dogs didn't have dogs! Sleeping Dogs didn't have dogs! If Warframe can't have dogs, who can!?
zavienh5 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 no, dogs, dogs r human's best friends, prob on that?
Legion-Shields Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) I actually think pretty much the same thing as the OP. Dogs and raising puppies belongs on the Nintendo DS. Edited June 21, 2014 by Legion-Shields
Joyfulmama Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 'Listening to the wrong people' is untrue. Warframe players seeking more interesting additions to the game are definitely not the 'wrong people' to listen to. What you want is for kubrow-raising to be an option with no losses if you do not participate in it. That is a different thing altogether, so you could come up with ideas on how to make kubrow-raising still fun for those who want it but not disadvantageous for those who don't, if you feel so strongly against these doglike creatures.
OcelotVampire Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 Yes the title is right. Where exactly do dogs fit into the whole space ninja theme? Do our Liset ships have a dog silhouette next to our tenno when we get to extration? I fail to see the point to raising animals in this game. I guess I thought this was a action shooter, silly me. Oh I will be raising dogs if only to see how much I can mistreat them before they bite me. Afterwords it's into the sun with you Lassy.
Lorengorm Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 If you don't want the Kubrows just don't pursue that element of the game when they release. I get that it still takes up development time but most people really want them and I think it fits into the lore fine. Fleshes out the Tenno a little bit more. They are just stone cold. They have a little bit more of an ecosystem. I don't know. I'm in favor of them personally.
taiiat Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) i'll judge Kubrows when i have them to see for myself, but i'm expecting 24 months of fixing pathing issues since they're a ground based pet. Edit: coincidentally, the TV had some animal abuse commerical on while i was reading this thread. haha. Edited June 21, 2014 by taiiat
SquirmyBurrito Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 no, dogs, dogs r human's best friends, prob on that? No, cats are humans' best friends. Dogs are just slaves/the ultimate submissives.
-Hyperion- Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 No, cats are humans' best friends. Dogs are just slaves/the ultimate submissives. But we're slaves to cats in their eyes...

No one really gives a damn you're not a dog person or why you hate dogs in warframe or opinion on dogs due to your lack of info on warframe dogs A dog person shall get his dog whether you like it or not. it shall be like Fallout. Deal with it. So here's a nice theme song for ya. Edited June 21, 2014 by SirAuron
RespectTheInternet Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 No, cats are humans' best friends. Dogs are just slaves/the ultimate submissives. Submissive? I dont see it.
Renathy Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 No, cats are humans' best friends. Dogs are just slaves/the ultimate submissives. Every dog has a sever case of Stockholm Syndrome. So, yeah kids, your puppy doesn't love you. It's just not right in the head.
Kappatalist Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Adding dangerous wildlife to spice up Warframe's organic environs was a good idea. Doge Simulator 2014 is not a good idea. Not a relevant idea, anyway. Either Sentinels or Kubrow Pets are going to become vestigial in nature come U14.
RIOT Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 You know. I thought the same thing about sentinels. and you know what I did? nothing... 800+ hours and i've never used a sentinel... however I'm stoked for the kubrows even if they will be meh in combat.
ValhaHazred Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Don't pick up Kubrow eggs. Yaaaaaaay, you've successfully avoided caring for a dog.
Drake_Gunn Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Like many have said, if you don't like kubrows don't make them, and for all the people saying they want another kind of animal what's to say warframe can't/won't add some later. Other than that we'll have to see how effective the kubrow is when they come out before judging them completely.
SirAuron Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 So you have had this bottle up for so long eh? Must explain why the dev team sees this when they see you coming...
DraikoHunter Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 I for one think it would be nice to have pets in Warframe, yeah we're space ninjas but space ninjas can have dogs too. It would give the Tenno some personality too, Valkyr seems to be the only one with any emotion (seeing as shes the only Waframe that uses her vocal chords, unlike everyone else who's just mute).
