Still Having Fun After Reaching Your Event Goals?

I'm enjoying the new mission type and love that it gets harder each time I play after a previously successful round.

I've done a few runs with clan members but most of my runs have been solo.

With the introduction of mutalist ospreys, I've been pleased to say they are a welcomed change in the infestation stable. Although small - these guys will kill you with their toxin mist if you don't move your butt out of the area or if you let them hang around for too long.

Their simple presence in higher level mob groups is a nice pinch on the cheek that says "wake up, you're gonna be screwed if you don't handle them now before it gets crowded."

Just a list to add on what is winning in this event for me.

The things that really make this fun:

1. The tile set.

>Very Chaotic in design, really tight corridors, erratic environmental geometry. Simply put, INFESTED!

>Discovering new points of passage through vents or side passages. The team behind this tile set did an amazing job.

> SPAAAAACE. Literally there are portions where you are exposed to space's atmosphere and there are indoor areas with space to move around within the same room type.

2. Sound:

> Infested unit sounds are fantastic with and without music on!

> The soundtrack IS DOPE! DOPE! DOPE! DOPE!

3. AI pathing:

> The infested are everywhere and they can REACH YOU!

> They aren't derping around, they are actively looking for you with dire interest in your demise.

4. Hive types:

> Each time a hive dies, it snips at some of your advantages. Its not a hard or extreme change like in nightmare mode but it can lead to problems when you have to pass a corridor with a huge magnetic gas bubble in your way while both entrances of the corridor are swarming with the infested!

5. Mutalist Ospreys:

> Annoying little buggers that fly back and fourth IF YOU LET THEM.

> Easy to kill; bad to keep a live. Fast movement in bursts followed by environmental dangers created by it. Love it!

> Kills AFKers on defense missions. Kills Cheese-Mode players. Kills careless players. Kills you because you are not moving away from the toxin mists.

> Did I mention EASY TO KILL? Because they are if you aim and shoot or melee them.

> P.S. - Don't leave them alive! Kill them!

6. Difficulty increase:

> Oh things get scary fun when they reach higher levels as you play solo.

EDIT: forgot two other pieces!

:)

i'm enjoying the Event Mission, yes. i'll play it some over the next week. not as much as i did at first to get the goals completed, but i'll still enjoy playing it sometimes.

and i'll be helping randoms too i suppose, with the score increase i'll be bringing.

I've been putting in a fair amount since i completed mine as well...

Am enjoying it more than DS or Void runs, tbh.

The tileset design coupled with the music near the end and the hordes of mobs compliment each other.

What I would love to see is another mode where the mobs close in from all directions. Add some puzzles that make getting to each tumor to clear the hives take significantly more time and travel and require that certain doors take a certain amount of time to unlock similar to the last event weekend and you'd have one heck of an interesting ride.

Throw in some shambling Corpus in a half-infested form for extra flavor.

Edit: In the event DE actually reads this...

This is a mode they need to keep as opposed to removing at the end of the event.

My man, right on! Diversification and random ways to access objectives through puzzles! Half-formed Corpus would be sweet!

I've reached the level 1000s and have a current best score of around 180. It is fun and all to skate on my rear and copter to the objectives and copter to the end point while dodging infested and taking the viral hit from clouds to avoid the large crowd of infested that can one shot everything excluding god-modes. Thrilling!

Only problem is that my total is over 10k and my very presence ruins(or makes for the masochists out there) the fun for everyone else...I can pug and it only brings up the infested levels to 20-30(these can one shot newbies) while making our end points 30-48 for a single run and if I duo with one other person who has at least 400 total score then the enemy levels become 200-500 and the end points that we earn is 90-130.

Oh, I can also invite people into my started game and let them play around with level 1k+ infested...Also level 1k specters can really save the day while level 1k turrets...kill the specters slowly but surely..

i would like it more if the point system wasn't so random, i got to 37 and the next run right after it i got a 12... so yeah, points are too random. but other then that yeah the new tile set and stuff is nice, but i'm giving up on the event due to what i already said.

I enjoy it greatly.  When I'm not trying to solo my best score higher (since most everybody in my clan stopped at around 50), I use my total score to help random pubs get to 48 in like 1-2 runs.

The tileset is easily my favorite and the audio changes to the Infested plus the new music really sets the atmosphere.  As the Infested are my favorite faction, I could run the mission for days.

its a nice event, it started off killing everything as you go but now at 144 points best, 6500+ total its all about controlling and running past as it takes too long to kill everything, it changed naturally from one type of run to the other when they got too much health to kill

Yeah I got 64, then it randomly dropped to 23.

haha.

I agree with you OP, it's quite a nice event.

Doing it for exp and neurodes at the moment. :<

I really like the tileset and the feeling of it actually BEING infested, but I really don't like how the difficulty ramps up as your best or whatever goes higher.  I would like to try and solo it around without being Rhino and bringing all my OP stuff. Whenever the tileset is released as a part of the whole game, Ill definitely be playing in it for a while.

Yeah I've really enjoyed it too.  I've kinda hit my difficulty wall where I'm failing more than I'm succeeding, but that's the point when you are actually challenged.  Not something I'm used to in warframe. :)

I solo'd most of my runs so I ended up feeling a little burned out by the time I nabbed the Prova Vandal, but it was an awesome change of pace, and the dynamic mission style was really cool in my opinion. I wish the points you get weren't based on RNG, admittedly, but it didn't take too long either way. Nyx with Absorb did an amazing job at staying alive, but the magnetic bubbles were what really killed me.

I wish the spawns were a little lower on the Mutalist Ospreys, and that their hitboxes were a little closer to their actual dimensions, but I used an Amprex for all my runs- I only ever had to shoot the Crawler to slaughter the Ospreys above them, which was ridiculously fun.

Overall, I have to agree that this was an amazingly fun mission type and a welcome change of pace. I sincerely hope that they keep this mission type somehow, because it's one of the most interesting and dynamic in the game. If the Corpus and Grineer get special Invasion missions, the Infested should get their own hivestomping mission too!

For the first time again since joining Warframe in U8, I have to really think on my feet and plan ahead for any problems when reaching the hives, not mention using the dodging mechanic quite a bit to evade the horde. So yes, I am having some fun again.
