Amazing dual-attack weapon! I'm hoping to be more usable as aggressive and/or defensive.

 

How about introducing a charge mechanic to secondary fire?

Charging affects the projectile's velocity, size, and detonation wait time. 

When released instantly, it is launched swiftly, expands hardly, and bursts immediately after deceleration.

When released with maximum charging, a large sphere is located near by and stays.
