Help Needed From Pro Trinity Players!

Question

Posted

I wonder if anyone even plays Trinity anymore after the nerf on Blessing! I put a lot of effort into my trinity (5 forma back since before her revamp) Not giving up on her just yet :(

Sadly i had to join the crowd and play a Rhino in most higher level missions after the nerf.

With such high damage mob (T4) and players often going down, it's almost impossible to heal quickly with Trinity (Wish blessing could revive players as well). Rhino just provide the easy package to revive team mates. (Iron skin + stomp)

I'm having a hard time changing my play style on Trinity.
I tried Link + Blessing combo (Unfortunately you can't achieve 100% damage reduction, even if you do get close to that, it'll only last a few sec...)

I tried Link + E.Vam combo + Quick Thinking = Works alright in low and mid level but die in an instant on high level missions. My 450 energy gets wipe out in less than a sec in T4 LOL!

I tried E.Vam + Blessing = Not much i can do other than hiding behind my team and provide healing and support to my mates. If anything sneak behind my back, i'm going down! LOL!

How do you guys play her now, especially for T4?

Any advice are highly appreciated!

It's super rare to see trinity these days!

Well the build I have settled on is a negative duration Blessing build with energy vampire and natural talent.

Basically as Trinity you will no longer (No matter the build) be keeping the whole team alive they have to play well not to die, sure you can help them if they make a mistake or get caught by a laser but you will not be keeping them alive like you used to.

Trinity is now an actual support frame were she used to be a god mode frame that means that if your team-mates are idiots getting into terrible situation then you the support can only do so much to keep them alive.

The build I use is used as a heal only and the damage reduction is mostly ignored as it only lasts 4 seconds but with natural talent Blessing is cast instantly so as long as they don't literally get one shot you should be able to heal the for them to get out of a bad situation.

Here is my exact 1 forma build -http://goo.gl/XGzXqp

Unlike what some people think, Trinity's still super viable at high level, and it seems many players who know about that actually appreciate her presence in the team. If your teammates try to be careful, you can still get high resistance with Blessing. It would also be helpful if they tried to use Vitality sometimes, but since I can't rely on that, I put that on myself.

I play high survivability Trinity without min-maxing much, and rely on Link to stay alive, while giving lots of support with EV + Blessing.

My Link has decent duration, and my Blessing has about 11-13 seconds of duration, so that if I miss my Blessing somehow, it doesn't last too long, and if I do it successfully, the duration is enough to keep my allies alive (for them to recover in a corner maybe, or simply to defend themselves and last longer before getting downed while protecting an objective). Also, with Stretch, I get decent range with both Link (good survivability and makeshift enemy radar) and EV (important for support).

Maxed Redirection and Vitality is to make sure I can stay alive with Link alone against T4 enemies, and it's also a way for me to gauge more easily when to use Blessing based on my own HP (happens very rarely due to high stats to begin with).

I actually have the similar build to yours, but i use QuickThinking instead of Continuity.

When exactly do you use your blessing? For me i tried to use it when it hits my HP close to 0. I guess i need a better timing to use blessing at T4, too risky to go close to 0.

Use QT, max duration, and no HP mods. Get yourself a thrown melee weapon (glaive, kestrel) and mod it for Toxin damage, as well as Quick Return maxed and power throw. Toxin damage ignores shields so put exactly enough damage on it to do a little more than your health and throw at your feet.  It will blow up, taking you to 2 hp. Hit Blessing and enjoy 99.5% damage reduction for its duration.  Be sure to stay topped up on energy with EV since occasionally the explosion will crit for 1.5X damage and take significantly more energy to survive with QT.  Energy restores can help here for situations where you cant use EV.  Immortal/Link build is still around but requires effort to maintain.

Cool suggestion! Will try it out right away! XD

2 ways to play her now, imo. Short duration with Rank 0 Blessing, and spam Blessing whenever you or a teammate need a heal. Alternate Energy Vampire's every 3-4 Blessings and cast a short duration Link when you need the knockdown prevention. Or ditch Link and get even more effective health with QT and Flow.

The other way to play is bring QT/Flow, no health or shield mods, and build long duration as before. Nuke yourself with an AoE weapon until QT is activated, and press 4 for ~30 seconds of 99% damage reduction for your whole team. You can then hit Link, bringing you to 100% reduction, and build with Stretch, maybe even OE, and self nuke as before.

I guess it depends if you're willing to add some forma.

Energy Siphon aura is mostly wasted, because you can get 88 energy restored at the push of a button. So I would forma to - and use Corrosive Projection, or Enemy Sense. While keeping the D polarity, you might consider Physique. It'll give your teammates a bit more health, thus giving you another split second in which to cast Blessing to save them.

Well of Life will be mostly useless, I doubt you will use it often. It's fun to combo with Energy Vampire to do some awesome ability damage, but it won't instantly kill armored units anymore :(.

I would replace it with Intensify, to make EV restore an extra 30 energy and thus allow for another Blessing between EV's. You could also replace it with Quick Thinking with some forma, once you get it, for a huge chunk of extra health. The final option I would lean towards is the use of Stretch, making EV restore energy in a larger radius (good for helping teammates) and making Link reach farther, good for increasing the usefulness of that ability.

I would keep Natural Talent; EV spam is much more fluid and given you may end up casting Link every 6 seconds it'll give you a nice chunk of effective playtime back.
