This is just a very rough idea I just thought of so feel free to offer suggestions on how to tweak it to where it would work better.

Mastery rank right now serves no purpose other than be able to build better weapons and to deploy more extractors. Damage scaling, especially for warframes abilities, is pretty much none existant. To kill two birds with one stone I would suggest that each mastery rank grants 1% extra damage for every 10th level an enemy is. So a mastery rank 5 player going against a level 20 enemy will receive a 10% damage bonus to all his weapons and abilities. That probably doesn't seem like a lot but lets say your a mastery rank 15 player going against level 60 enemys and you get a 90% increase to your damage?

That actually might be a bit too much, maybe this sould only apply to abilities im not sure again its a rough idea but it makes sense that the higher mastery rank you are that you would be able to make more use out of your weapons and frames.

This also could possibly give some frame specific bonuses that use the same math like loki, ash and vauban get a duration bonus and rhino,saryn and ember get a power strength bonus. You get the idea. No doubt this might take some rebalancing so its not an over powered system but with some tweaking it might just work!

Didn't the developers talk about the Focus system or something? I think it could serve such a purpose ... waiting for U14 intensifies!

 

Yeah it was briefly discussed in Devstream #31, but it will not be in U14.

Maybe but every thing ive heard them say about it didnt have anything to do with any type of scaling, unless I missed something.

And here i thought we're doing too much damage to a point of being broken mechanics.

This. We shouldn't get any more direct damage buffs. Enemies are too easy as it is to the point that people are doing 1hr + survival/def just to get a challenge.

 

If Mastery Rank is going to serve a purpose (which in the Focus system, it does in an off to the side, round about way) it'll be in other ways, many of which have been discussed before. Don't worry, DE isn't going to leave it as it is.
