A Few Tips For A Newbie

Hi, guys!

 

I've started to play recently and now I've got into the game in most aspects, especially after reading this guide  https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/80851-updated-98guide-getting-started/

but now I have a few more questions and will be glad if you help me with it.

 

So, my frame is

 

Excalibur (30)

Melee - Gram (30)

Primary - Latron (30)

Secondary - Afuris (30)

 

And my questions:

 

1. Orokin reactor - is it better to put it in my Ex or in Rhino (cause I have all the neccesary blueprints for him) or other frame (which then?)

 

2. Orokin catalyst - put it in melee (gram) or in primary? If in primary then what is the best option instead of Latron, that will be really useful for that part of the game (3rd rank for now)

 

3. Actually, how rare potatos are? Can I get him only at events, or just by farming?

1~ since your just starting out, I would suggest putting it on buffy beef cakes rhino.

 

2~ I would suggest putting it on an automatic weapon (primary) Umm I think you can use karak already.

 

3~Potatoes are rare, you can get them through events,alerts and the ever rare invasion rewards.

1. Any frame you really like. You will have reactors later for others.

2. Latron is a solid choice.

3. Only in alerts, rarely in invasions.

1 - You'll get more Reactor down the road, but for now try bulid and try out Rhino. If you enjoy him, put the reactor on him, if not, put it on Excal.

 

2 - I personaly use melee above all. but thats up to you :)

 

3 - Potatoes (reactors and catalysts) are rarish. The only way to get them is: buying, alerts (2 in 2 weeks after Devstreams), or rarely in invasions and events.

Alright (1), Excalibur blind is a nice for High tier def missions when modded correctly. Rhino/Prime iron skin and stomp is great for most solo and survival missions So that one is up to you! (2), Now Gram is a alright weapon but I personally would not catalyest it but rank it up for extra mastery points. Latron or Karak now is one of the best starting rifles for beginner players, and your secondery weapon afuris is a nice starting side arm. Enjoy

Rhino as it will help you as a beginner to take more damage.

Primary if you do like using it often, although if you are more melee, go melee. By the way boltor is a stupendous starter weapon to even endgame if modded correctly. Latron too, maybe work for latron prime if you like it that much.

Depends how you use them, you can get them most often by livestream droppings, alerts, and some clashes in factions.

I can't agree more but to add to your 3 you could try to get items and trade them for plat and buy potatoes :)

orokin reactors / catalysts can come from login rewards too. I had a catalyst blueprint today.

1. Rhino since he scales better with low tier mods than Cali does.

 

2. Primary, and try go for something like a Karak or Braton rifle. Both of those are pretty effective early game (And mid - slightly late depending on how forma happy you are). Latron is still a very good weapon if you're accurate though. If you're good enough to get constant headshots, I say stick with it. 

 

3. At least one a month, after every livestream. But other than that they're fairly rare things to find. And alert or purchase only.

Guys, thanks for your feedback!

 

I've already statrted to build Rhino. Think I try to level him to 30 also, but with different weapon sets in order to try something new, and after that will decide what to do with potatoes. 

 

Speaking about Latron - it is really nice due to its critical and perfect for solo game, but sometimes it's hard to be accurate with it especially in team play, because everything becomes too chaotic. Probably I'll try Karak with Rhino.

 

Anyway, thanks again! Probably I'll raise the topic, If have more questions.
