Currently the mod count for the four elements is 

 

Fire mods

Primary-3

Pistol-2

Melee-2

 

Cold mods

Primary-1

Pistol-2

Melee-1

 

Toxin mods

Primary-2

Pistol-2

Melee-2

 

Electric mods

Primary-2 

Pistol-2

Melee-3

 

Do we really need all these fire mods when really the only good combination for it is radiation?(And blast for Penta)

Fire doesn't really have more mods than any others besides Cold (which, based on the current trend, will receive dual stat mods during the next major event), so I don't really see your point, especially when you consider that they're making a whole set of dual stat mods for every element.

Once the cold dual stat mods come out then poison will be the only element that doesn't have 3 mods on one of the weapon types.  Fire doesn't seem like it has that many more mods than the other elements, it's just on a slot that has two weapon types that they had to make mods for.  Even then it has a whole one more mod than ice and electricity.  Not that big of a deal.

I guess my point is I'd rather much see fire mods get better element combinations if DE wants to throw 3 of them at us when said 3 will only come in handy in 1 build.

Regular old fire by itself is DoT plus stun when it procs.

 

I'm glad to have all the fire mods I can get my hands on. Don't complain.

Uhh... There really isn't that many more Fire mods than other types...

 

Only additional Fire mods for a weapon are Wildfire (Magazine capacity + Fire damage) and Blaze (Base damage + Fire Damage)

 

Only type that's really different is Cold, which will be fixed with the next set of dual stat mods.

 

As far as Heat damage goes...

 

It's one of the most neutral single elements (Only negative is against the rare Proto Shields. It even gets bonus to all Grineer and Infested to boot)

 

Radiation is one of the most sought after damage types because of the main targets in Grineer having Alloy armour (Bombards, Napalms, Eviscerators and Elite Lancers)

 

Gas completely wrecks Infested.

 

Weakest Heat based damage type is Blast, but even then it's a really useful CC proc (AoE knockdown) and has no downsides when not facing Grineer (Heck, high level Grineer makes the Ferrite armour that it's weak against much rarer than at low levels)

Except for Poison...

Toxic is already 2-2-2-2, across the board. Also, it's the most popular pre-installed type(there's no less than 8 weapons and 1 frame that can inherently use it, and that 1 frame can inherently use it on every single weapon!)

Basically what everyone is trying to say is, the current number of fire mods is a complete non-issue, and also you're totally selling short the usefulness of fire damage and it's combined elements.

Gas is also a good combo that uses fire and is the primary one that should be used against infested. Fossilized takes bonus damage from blast damage but is resistant too radiation while sinew is opposite of fossilized.

 

What we need at the momentt is more cold damage mods but they will come with a new event.

Radiation is HORRIBLE.

 

Do Corrosive and Fire, that way you can kill big things easily, and most everything else is vulnerable to Fire.

Radiation is very effective against Grineer heavies, which are one of the worst scaling enemies, armor and life wise.

I personally use Corrosive and cold though.

Just as many electric and only one less toxin

 

Why not ask why we have so few cold mods?

 

And have you heard of gas?

 

Ever try gas electric builds?

High lvl napalms and bombards will laugh at your pitiful damage.

 

Corrosive is still better; I have no problems 1-shotting level 50s. I don't bother going higher to see if it is still effective since it takes so long to get that high.
