Any Way To Improve This Dual Ichor Build?

Question

Posted

Here is my current Void setup:  http://goo.gl/FES5mw (the others just change the element type accordingly)

Is there any way to make it deal more damage without channeling?  Would a channeling build be significantly better?  Any help would be appreciated as I am still adjusting to the melee 2.0 changes.

I use that exact build and in my opinion you can't do better if you want to use life strike.

In some missions where mobility is more important than more damage, just swap Spoiled Strike with Fury.

EDIT: Except against Corpus I switch Focus Energy with Virulent Scourge.

I use Fury instead of LS when damage is the priority, but thats about it.

As Naftal said, Fury instead of SS when mobility is key.

Technically Fury instead of SS would be more DPS too, but it would reduce your healing:energy ratio when using LS.

At least I use spin attacks for their unlimited target cap and more targeted strikes (headshot crits) very often so I prefer bigger damage per hit. They're also the best attacks to use for LS.

Yeah, I wasn't really saying use it, just pointing it out. Fury has an interesting synergy with Zerker that gives a nice DPS boost, but its probably not a great idea to ignore damage per hit and focus just on DPS, for exactly the reasons you stated. But at the same time we cant look at damage/hit and ignore DPS, or we wouldn't be using Zerker. So the balance boils down to personal preference, but I'd prefer the setup as-is.

why don't you use fury instead of berserker? or fury over fever strike?

This. Replace Berserker with Fury; you should only use Berserker when you've already equipped Fury on a weapon yet want more attack speed on top of that. Fever strike, on the other hand, adds to the damage, so I'd keep that and let Fury balance it out.

Other than that I guess the build is 'ok' if you insist on having life steal in there.

Fury gives 30% attack speed while berserker gives 30% per proc and stacks three times.

Yeah, Berserker is ideal for high critical chance weapons since it can proc every 2-3 hits and stack 3 times up to +90% attack speed.  Sadly, I don't have a Virulent Scourge yet but should get one next update.  I'll give Fury a try as well.  I still want to keep Life Strike as it is great utility though (and it uses the D polarity slot).  Thanks for the feedback, glad to know I wasn't too far off the mark.

Not that I can tell. I didn`t do any specific testing but it feels like single target dps is about the same. I prefer ST - the combo is easier and racks up the combo multiplier faster, imo.

A note about Berzerker - while it certainly stacks, I`ve done a lot of testing and found its +30% then +45% then +60% for some bizarre reason, not 30-60-90%. Still well worth the slot on a crit based weapon.

Good to know, thanks.  Yeah, I have both stances but haven't been able to discern much difference between them.  I was just curious if there was some hidden damage multiplier/bonus that is applied to one.

Naw, pretty sure the modifiers are similar, if not the same.

I do like that the last attack from the ST pause combo causes a small AoE knockdown - I follow that with a channeled execute against heavies.
