With abysmal crit chance and dmg, you're basically dealing genuine 122 Puncture and 610 Corrosive.

...If you have no idea if those numbers are supposed to be good or bad:

I've tested this weapon against mid-lvl (35) and higher lvl (35+ to 80) enemies.

And it sucks.

It's suffering the same dilemma as the Braton Prime (which I've also maxed, with 8 forma, still subpar).

It needs a buff.

...

You're probably thinking, "ok what about the secondary fire? Does it redeem this weapon?"

No.

It doesn't.

1) The delay is hilariously too long. In Warframe, a lot can happen in a short amount of time. Radiation effect on 1 or 2 enemies isn't going to do anything. In fact, it doesn't do anything in defense missions. I've seen a whole bunch of Infested charge through the bubble, all procced with Radiation, still charging to the pod.

2) Its Electric Shield effect gives you 2x (could be 2.5x but it doesn't matter) crit dmg boost with decent chance. And that still isn't nearly enough to make this weapon useful. And you better be the host if you want the bubbles to work properly. Also, good luck seeing anything through the thing.

I really liked this weapon. I was hoping it would shine when maxed with 5 forma. Shame.

DE, please buff the Mutalist Quanta.

*and Braton Prime* *and Supra* *and Spectra* *etc*

im a lover of braton prime and i would like to see it shine with a buff.

Braton Prime is such a blast to use. If it had the exact same stats as Soma or Boltor Prime, I'd use Braton Prime everyday.

DE doesn't have to go overboard on buffing these commonly talked about weapons. I wish they'd get around to it already.

While I agree that those three weapons are desperately in need of a buff in order to actually fill the roles they're supposed to be in, generic "DE PLS BUFF" threads aren't quite productive. A good start would be actually suggesting changes based on the given stats of the weapon.

For example, I would say the Braton Prime could use an increase in physical damage, specifically more puncture damage and perhaps slightly more impact just to raise the overall IPS damage count. An increase in fire rate seems warranted as well, given that it fires at the same rate as the normal Braton, though this is very easy to compensate for given that most find Shred almost required in many builds. The other fully automatic Prime primary, the Boltor Prime, received an increase in fire rate as well as a massive damage boost. In addition, an increase to 15% status chance seems warranted, to me, to keep it relevant against higher level enemies. After all, DPS isn't the only balancing factor with these weapons to consider. A buff to 17 Slash, 12.5 Puncture, and 4.5 Impact would get the damage per bullet up to a reasonable level for a prime weapon, at a healthy 34 physical damage instead of a meager 25.1 it now has.

Given that the Prime weapons are generally supposed to be the top tier weapons in their respective classes, Braton's performance is... Iffy, at best. Burston Prime is the best burst rifle, Latron Prime is the best semi auto, and Boltor Prime is the best ballistic assault rifle, and all of them best their market-available variants by a long shot. The Braton Prime, being only slightly improved vs. many of the other market available assault rifles, notably the Karak, doesn't exactly carry the same shine the other Prime-aries do.

So, what actual changes would you suggest to make the Quanta better?

Edit; I should probably add a little credibility to my post by mentioning that the Braton Prime accounts for about 20% of my overall Primary usage, and I've forma'd it 5 times with over 10 million XP that my profile has actually logged.

Seeing that Braton and MK-I Braton was the first weapon which I used during my starter days, I am extremely excited to see Braton Prime to get a buff, the weapon is an epitome of an Assault Rifle, it shoots okay, it kicks okay, it FEELS okay.

@TheMightyVoice: yes I agree "buff ____ plz" is not productive.

I suggest:

1) Buff the physical dmg and crit chance/dmg for less suck

2) Decrease the bubble explosion delay to 3 seconds at most. Also make it a lot more transparent so ppl can actually see what they're shooting it when using it for the Electric Shield effect.

@Shion963: yes Spectra too lol

actually...its pretty good against infested, though it does lack power against other enemies

i think it may be a infested specific weapon as that beach ball attracts infested to you and if you use loki you can go invisible and set a decoy on the ball, wait for them to leach onto it, then unload a clip.....doesn't seem to work with other enemies though...

so it does need a sorta of buff

Infested survivals in narrow areas I suppose...

As I've said in the OP, infested procced with Radiation will still charge for the pod.

The Beach ball is small, hard to see through, kicked around with melee by others so you can never get to shoot though it, forever to explode.

Things I can think to do with it.

Turn it into a anti moa projectile. Hits enemy explodes, misses enemy, bounce then radiation shockwave that can hit yourself.

Just turn it into the old single tenno sized volt shield. Or a large enough bubble to see though. No self damage. Only have one active at a time.

Dont do the volt shield thing, let the basic shots pop the bubble for more damage. Let the element explosion type be from the primary fire. like zephyr tornados.

I am disappointed by the weapon and I am surprised clan tech has gotten so much weaker lately while market weapons have been broken as hell. I mean I used the angstrum and that weapon belongs in the clan tech it is just absurdly good. But lately these weapons have been proving  good as a concept but poorly executed. The MQ alt fire which I imagine is its key feature just takes too long and too much to be worth it. Using split chamber will eat your clip in just two reloads. The status chance is cool but will be outclassed by other weapons when they just kill things out right. The range and detonation time is awful. This weapons among many others need a buff, (torid also needs one)

The Quanta of Solace makes me sad in my pants. It's the most bizarre gun in the game, trying to be Dera, Braton, and...something else all at the same time. I can't zoom in with it, I can't make good use of the poop cubes, but if my Tenno ever becomes crippled and old, it'll make a fine cane to get around with. ;-)
