Neah Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) [Regen] revives your sentinel once when it is killed. While it is very useful, the timing for Regen to kick in is non-existent , meaning it regenerates your sentinel instantly after it is killed. More often than not, when my sentinel dies, even if it regenerates at that instant, it will still be receiving a ton of damage from mobs still around me, killing it again. Thus bringing it back from the dead is sort of a moot point since it only does that once.[suggestion for change :]Add in a brief timing window before [Regen] kicks in, e.g. 5(?) seconds with the condition that your warframe is active (not downed / dead). Since if you're down, chances are the sentinel won't be able to defend itself well enough for it to survive anyway . A mere 5(?) seconds of timing window should be enough for players to re-position themselves to safety, thus preventing further damage to your sentinel. This in my opinion, will greatly increase the effectiveness of [Regen] , while having minimal impact on the players wishing to utilize the abilities of the sentinel (in that short period of time anyway). What do you guys think? Discuss below. Edited June 24, 2014 by Neah
UncommonUnicorn Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 It currently works like a heal that triggers once the sentinel reaches 0 health. Ergo, what you suggest would require a total rework of the mechanic.
BiancaRoughfin Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 The Regen mod is useless in my opinion so i dont even bother equiping it on my sentinels anymore.I once made a topic about Sentinel Survivability but it got deleted with time.In that topic, along with a bunch of other ideas i had suggested DE make a purchaseable item on the store that would allow the player to ressurect its sentinel, causing a wireframe of the sentinel to follow the player, flashing and slowly filling then turning into the colors the player had set before reactivating. During this time the sentinel would be vunerable so the player would have to seek cover to avoid slowing the ressurection process and the time it took to be fully restored would be based on its rank. With the new game rescourses, DE could make a craftable item similar to the purchaseable one i suggested at that time and players would be able to purchase the Blueprint at the market. It would work just as i had suggested but the color the Sentinel`s wireframe would flash would be the same energy color used on it.
Neah Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) The Regen mod is useless in my opinion so i dont even bother equiping it on my sentinels anymore. That's why I made this topic. It's a quality-of-life improvement for mods that already exist in the game, their mechanics changed slightly to improve upon the ideas / intent which made the mods in the first place. Most if not all mods (especially utility mods) in the game could be tweaked a bit and improved upon to increase their viability and effectiveness of use. Personally I find it such a waste that some good concepts in the game did not receive as much use as they could have due to poor optimization / mechanics. Edited June 24, 2014 by Neah
LasersGoPewPew Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 remove the Resurrection from it and just make it restore health over time based on the mod rank?..................... then it could completely prevent the sentinels death while still having a use and being viable to put on the frame.
