CapricaSix
As the title suggests, if I alt-tab even once and minimise the game, then go back in and start a mission, I'm stuck in the loading screen indefinitely while I still hear people play normally along with the Lotus announcements and everything. This didn't happen in the earlier versions. Please fix this. Edited June 25, 2014 by CapricaSix

CapricaSix
BORDERLESS FULLSCREEN. What's the point of alt-tabbing in the first place if you can't get to the desktop..? That's a workaround at best though, not a solution. Thanks anyway.

I did try it but as I said I can't reach my desktop with that on, therefore there's no point in alt-tabbing then. But most importantly it does have a negative impact on performance compared to the normal fullscreen mode. At least it does for me (using i5-4570, 8gb ram with GTX550Ti)

I can reach my desktop on both Windows 7 and Windows 8; the key is to alt tab until your "desktop" is selected in the alt-tab mini window

I can reach my desktop on both Windows 7 and Windows 8; the key is to alt tab until your "desktop" is selected in the alt-tab mini window Win7 x64 and I can't reach the desktop, the game appears to be stuck in the background and I only see my steam friendlist and start bar, etc. Also feels like my fps rate is cut in half, kind of stuttery. Edit: On another note, is this a common problem? Getting stuck in the loading screen because of alt+tabbing in regular fullscreen mode that is. MechaTails
I remember this happening to me before, borderless window fixed it like magic. And there must be something wrong with your OS or settings if you cant alt tab to the desktop because I can do it just fine. (windows 7 64bit and windows Vista 32 bit). Hold alt and press tab until you get to the desktop, theres also a shortcut that minimizes all windows.

Hold alt and press tab until you get to the desktop, theres also a shortcut that minimizes all windows. It only happens with Warframe and only when I'm on Borderless Fullscreen, I doubt there's something wrong with my OS, it's fine with the other games. Windowed fullscreen tip #1: Windows+D minimizes all, lets you go to your desktop. Didn't know about that shortcut, thanks :P but then there's the performance issue. So borderless fullscreen isn't really an option for me as I can't enjoy the game when it's stuttering all the time. This needs to be fixed. I was wondering why my game was always hanging, thanks for the info. This really does need a fix. And thank you for posting, really good to know that I'm not alone with this. DeathwingZero
On the right side of your taskbar, or more accurately system tray, next to the clock there's a button you can push that brings you to desktop. This is effectively Windows key + D but try it anyway. There is also a different kind of alt+tab in Windows 7. Try Control + Windows key + Tab ("Aero Flip 3D"). Desktop should show up in this list. I don't imagine it will fix the hanging that you mention though. I'm assuming, since you actually know what your hardware is, that your drivers, specifically video card, are up to date? I don't mean generic ones from Windows Update or Nvidia's website, but ones that are from your card manufacturer? Regardless, Desktop should be an option in the Alt+Tab menu, or the aforementioned "Aero Flip 3D" menu. Something is definitely wrong if it's not showing up. No overheating or voltage issues. No malwares. This whole thing is exclusive to Warframe for me.

CapricaSix
its a windows problem not a warframe problem. Obviously I was referring to the game being stuck in the loading screen, not being unable to get to the desktop. I always play my games in fullscreen and I'd like to keep it that way, besides as I've already said, it does have a negative impact on performance, so it's not an option for me either way. What I don't understand is, why did this whole thing turn into a debate. I'm reporting a bug here. :|
CapricaSix
I was wondering why my game was always hanging, thanks for the info. This really does need a fix. I think I found the culprit, looks like I neglected to see if changing the launcher options would help, apparently it does. Switched back to 64-bit mode and I'm not getting stuck in the loading screen anymore after alt+tabbing. Not sure why exactly I switched to 32-bit in the first place but I remember that was because of a bug as well. It'd be great if you could confirm this since we seem to be the only ones here with this problem. :P PS: still needs a fix for the 32-bit users though, to hell with the borderless mode. I had the bug, and I'm in 64-bit mode still, just checked even. Hmm... well, it looks like the bug is gone now? Must have been a "ninja" hotfix? I will continue to test this anyways just to be sure. Alt+tabbed quite a bit on purpose and played a couple missions, didn't have any issues. Will post again if I do.
