Monolake Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I aborted a T4 mission (I ran solo just for a test for only ~5-6 mins), of course I got no rewards or anything, but still lost a key WTF? I wouldn't mind to get it back, cause farming T4 keys especially surv takes some time. And check the functionality plz, this shouldn't happen. Also can any one confirm if it happens all the time now or just a glitch.
MrNonApplicable Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Yeah, this has been thing for while now, not sure why. Just let it fail in the future (forfeit after dying) and you'll keep the key. Edited June 24, 2014 by MrNonApplicable
Dtexas Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I think it might be something they changed to happen all the time so people dont abuse the key system so that they just quit and try again with the same key when they dont get the item they want.
Kade974 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I am actually pretty sure they changed it recently so that once the objective is completed if you abort it you lose the key. They did this to prevent people from taking advantage of the system to get what they want. For example when the Rhino chassis was only in T3 survival people would abort after 20minutes if they didn't get it. The DE didn't like that so they fixed it.
Edgedemon Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 5 mins means at least one reward, after the first reward you lose the key, been like that from 5 hotfixes back or so
ayliax Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Quote from the Update 13.7 changelog. "Note: To prevent exploits with all Void Keys, if you are hosting and abort an endless mission after the objective has been completed, you will lose your key." Edited June 24, 2014 by Ayliax
GSDAkatsuki Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Yeah this was added a while back. I find it humorous DE is fine patching this not that big a deal exploit instead of fixing the main issue of their S#&$ty drop system of constantly getting doubles of items and low chances at the new rare pieces.

That worked before, now you die and abort - you lose your key! Just tested it again in T1. Quote from the Update 13.7 changelog. "Note: To prevent exploits with all Void Keys, if you are hosting and abort an endless mission after the objective has been completed, you will lose your key." Right, but after that patch you could still fail a mission (die or let the defence objective die) then abort and keep the key. As of today you lose the key too (and get zero rewards even if you have completed the 5+ rounds) And this change wasnt in any patchnotes afaik. Edited June 24, 2014 by Monolake
Retrosaur Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Actually, OP has this all confused. I have tested this out myself. If you decide to abort the mission, then yes, your key will be deleted. However, there is a workaround. If you die, if you hit forfeit, and all other players in your party have done so as well (if you have other players in your squad), then the mission is failed, you keep nothing, but YOUR KEY WILL STILL BE RETAINED. Tested using a T4 Survival, in which all the members of the team proceeded to fall to Vor. We all forfeited, I checked my inventory, still had my T4 key (only had 1), and re-invited the other party members.

I only tested it solo though. Getting killed with no revives left will result in the same - mission failed, key lost.
