Muffle
Not everyone has the most reliable connection. Many of these people with poor connections still try to host games. This is fine when it's a game in most of the solar system, because if they disconnect, a teammate can take over. However, in the void/derelict/any place that requires a key, this can be incredibly punishing for teammates. I was just in a 35 wave ODD (Orokin Derelict Defense) mission that I was doing for experience. The host disconnected, and we lost 35 waves of experience. I don't think this is a very fair way to run things. Why should everyone be punished for the host's inability to stay? So here is my proposed solution: Should the host of a game leave, the players are given 20 seconds to decide if one of them wants to take over the game. This will require them to use one of their own keys (that was probably the motivation for booting all players when the host left in the first place, conservation of keys). Should someone volunteer, the host will migrate. This at least adds some layer of security to joining random hosts, unsure of whether they are able to stay. This will also allow people to continue waves of defense after the host elects to leave, so they don't have absolute say over whether the match can continue or not. Please consider implementing this change so people are not punished for joining bad hosts. I understand that, unfortunately, peer hosting is necessary for this game. I wholeheartedly believe that it can however be improved.
