Best SwordMan class?

I'd say Excalibur is the better melee class. Ash's 4th doesn't seem to scale with your weapon, so while it is a melee attack, it isn't a sword class per se. I find sword dash to be much better than shuriken, and smoke screen is the same as radial blind. It is arguable whether teleport or super jump is better.

Javeliln does more damage to a boss than Blade Dance.

So I would Excalibur is the better melee class, but Ash is a good one as well.

The best melee class is by far the Rhino as it features as gap closer like the excalibur and also has damage reduction and 2 AoE skills making him excel in melee range. Also it /Should/ feature more health and shield boosters in the mod tree sinse it is a durable frame which will help a lot as well when fighting. Cant confirm the last one though

In the end, no frame has any tangible advantage for melee attacks. I would recommend, though, to try out Volt. Volt Sprint & Shield help getting into melee and getting out of it, with impromptu cover if needed. Shock stuns or outright kills most targets, especially Corpus, and Overload ... is just mass destruction. Another good contender would be Rhino - Rhino Charge to get in, Ironskin to weather the fire, Rhino Stomp to quickly take out a group of enemies you can then slice into tiny bits.

Excalibur can be fragile due to gun exposure, Slash Dash is unrelated to your melee weapon and Ash ... well, so far he doesn't strike me as that great. ;)

Edit to the above: Rhino has the same shields, armor and health as every other frame.

Certain classes do have advantages over other classes in terms of melee viability, even at level 30. It's not that there's no frame differentation, it's that what differences there are are too minute to seriously affect playstyle. I.e., Excalibur's slash dash makes getting into melee range alot easier than any of Ember's skills, but unless you've got multiple people running Energy Siphon, this won't come into play very often.

While no frame gets more inheret melee damage than any other the abilities they have will make them better or worse at such close range combat.

Having gap closers and ways to resist damage up close matters.

All the people so far as to say there is NO difference between frames are exagerating.

You are factually wrong.

We get it, when abilities arent being used the stats are the same so the frames are the same in that context.

But when abilities are being used the combat can be quite different and this cannot be ignored.

The issue is that currently we spend most of the game not using abilities.

The two options to change this are two 1: make a bility use happen more often or 2: add some other different aspect.

or some combonation of both.

Instead of using hyperbole and claiming that there is NO difference how about just expressing that youd like there to be MUCH MORE difference.

Acheives the same gaol without soundling like you cant see what is right in froint of your face. lol

Most of the time when i use Slash Dash i end up behind my enemies and their already dead, so i dunno what you mean by using it as a gap closer :P

Best way to close gaps is sprinting, and all frames have that feature.

Your absolutley right, but right now, there is no difference and thats that OP asked, if you like i can rephrase my answer to "Excalibur is supposed to be the best melee frame, but right now frames are the same" but thats just stupid.

The fact is, right now there is no difference, of course i want there to be, i started a thread about it, but that has nothing to do with this thread.

Loki provide high damage as melee, since he:

1. Can attack while invisible

2. Force enemy to use melee

3. Distract enemy

4. Teleport in\out fight

Also, there is stats for each class, thought they are not visible in game. If you take armor mod and look on it at warframe tree you can see the armor stat. As i seen - Loki had 25 armor, while Volt had 50 (if i remember right). I believe in future we'll know all stats for each warframe, but for now, we can only guess.

You didnt quite get it.

Again, the statement there is NO difference is factually incorrect.

Right now, there IS some difference between frames specicially because of the abilities.

Example- lets say a group of bad guys are up on high walkway.

My excaliber can super jump right up there and hack them to peices directly.

My rhino has to run around and find a stair way which takes enough time to get blown to bits so i may need to activate rhino skin to survive long enough to reach them for melee.

THAT IS a difference.

There is no difference in stats bewteen frames but that does not equal there being no difference between frames overall capability and how that effects things such as melee effectiveness. very different things.

how much damage a sword strike does is not the only thing to consider here.

So please, to avoid exageration and hyperbole, stop saying there is NO difference and start saying there ISNT ENOUGH difference.
