JimmyNinja
I am a player who loves to run around and slice up my opponents, like many of my fellow Tenno. But, it seems to me- and to a lot of others- that many of the weapons and stances feel clunky and slow. This slows down what should be fast-paced and exciting. I have an idea that can fix this. I propose that each Warframe be classified as "Light" or "Heavy". Each class will have its own combos- the Light class being quick and acrobatic, with a reduction in damage, and the Heavy class having increased damage with slow-moving, more stable attacks. I am referring to the mobility of the attacks, not the frequency. By this, I mean Light Class Warframes would use more hit-and-run tactics while Heavy Class Warframes would use more crowd control attacks. The overall DPS would remain (more or less) the same. Light Warframes: Ash, Banshee, Ember, Loki, Mag, Nekros, Nova, Nyx, Volt, and Zephyr Heavy Warframes: Excalibur (Slower is easier for newbies) , Frost, Hydroid, Oberon, Rhino, Saryn, Valkyr, and Vauban Please leave suggestions and feedback in the comments! Good day! Edited June 26, 2014 by JimmyNinja
shut
I'd rather have the speed be dictated by the stances, and not the frame. You know, as it currently is.

Kruglov
It's a nice idea but the tenno don't seem to care about weight classes. Hell look at Rhino. He is a fat FAT tub of lard. But he runs faster than almost all the other frames. It already makes no sense. Current system is fine for what it needs to do.

Nkomo-Sama
Excalibur is light. I think the idea is interesting and needs more thought. A few livestreams ago they mentioned different animations per frames and then for different weapons but then the animation director a good natured staff member said it was too much work (which I have no idea how he got promoted with that philosophy at DEL). I'd have a response for that once the cameras went off. One way or another my players would get those if it could be done even if it took awhile. JimmyNinja
There seem to be a few misunderstandings. I don't mean for attack speed to change, just the movement caused by attacks.
JimmyNinja
Excalibur is light. As I stated in the post, I made him heavy because I think the light class would be for more skilled players. Also, there were (and are) more light than heavy frames.

As the resident blade master though I'd hesitate to slow him down. Hey who knows maybe the new focus system will employ passives like what you are describing. Nice reference to the focus system, I totally forgot about that. I just hope it doesn't come out an update after it was expected to, like Melee 2.0.
