I Don't Understand Eximus Units.

Seriously. As I'm playing I'm continually asking myself stuff like

"what's the purple circle underneath my feet?"

"there's a toxic looking circle beneath my feet. However the same circle is also under the enemy's feet. What is it doing?"

"Oh i got disrupted... by what?

What do the orange foot circle things do?

"oh, That drone was an eximus unit? Did it do anything?"

That guy has a title but He's only bigger.

"is this cover adequate for protecting me from the firewave? I don't actually know"

Can't we have more clear cut guys? If it were up to me; Eximus units would simply buff allies. Heal allies and have a few abilities that support allies. If they were to have abilities that attack players; These offensive abilities would be clear and have effects like the ancient heal pulse, hek's orbital strike drone attack or at the least some kind of clear connector  like how the shield ospreys send visible energy to allies. At least we should have little UI icons telling us what's happening to us.

Questions a Tenno must ask constantly. Kind of annoying if you ask me. Especially the Shock units that drain energy from 20 meters away without so much as a glance. The other ones are fine as far as I'm concerned, I just think the Shock units that drain energy off much the way Ancient Disruptors do needs to be changed so it's more of a drain or a staggered loss instead of just woop gone.

Eximus enemies are a false difficulty in the game, placed in there by DE to appease those screaming for harder gameplay.

Well, I just used Avalanche in the presence of an Arctic Eximus, and the nearby enemies took zero damage, so I guess they can make enemies immune to their respective element. Never knew that before.

What upsets me most about the Eximus is that they're not the "commander" class units we were led to believe they were. I mean I guess they can provide a somewhat inconvenient elemental resist buff, but I was expecting something more along the lines of behavioral changes, like making the fodder enemies braver and charging your position, or in the case of the Arctic Eximus having them fall back under the globe, stuff like that. As they are the majority of them have zero synergy with other units and just have a one-trick gimmick that's either negligible or annoying.

P.S. Shock Eximi can die in a hole.

Have a proposal for you about that.

They have an aura that does something.  Figure out what it does so that you know what you're getting yourself into, then proceed to take them out so the aura disappears.  Then go on as usual.

The point of the thread is that it should be obvious what it does before the effect actually happens. Not after.

I disagree completely.  Like seriously, just straight on the opposite side of the fence.  The only time one should come to the plate knowing all their enemies' abilities is because they've experienced them, and thusly learn to counter them.

Knowing beforehand is exactly like looking it up in a strategy guide rather than just playing normally.

That being said, I'm not saying the Eximus in their current state are fine as is.  Well the fire, parasitic, sanguine, blitz, and toxic ones are perfectly fine in my opinion.  But the rest could utilize some teaks here and there.
