Suggestion: Dark Sectors 2.0

Quick Idea, for general feedback discussion, I'd like your feedback community!

 

Dark sector conflicts:

 

Currently to win a rail you have to wait  until it is open for attack and then a "click war" proceeds a luck of the draw (in many cases latency) takes the spot.

 

I was thinking of something like this:

 

Click war is only on "initial" capture of a node (this will be discussed further later)

 

After the initial establishment of the rail in order for a clan or alliance to capture the node (after the armistice) is for your clan or alliance to have the majority of the damage against it..

 

To elaborate: Think of all the clans and alliances in the game, each clan or alliance can attack a targeted node owned by "insert name here" .... now in order for that node to be taken over by a different clan or alliance....said clan or alliance would have to have to produce the majority of the damage over all the other clans or alliances attacking the rail.

 

So your clan did accumulated 60% of the damage to a node = you win the node!!  Now you get to have an armistice!

 

The other 40% of the damage was done by other clans or alliances.

 

(what if the majority of the damage was done by people who are not part of a clan?)

 

Simple: If the majority of damage to a rail is by players outside a clan the node becomes "unclaimed" and it is up for a "click war" as mentioned above this would be another time for an "initial" establishment to take place...this could be broadcasted like an ALERT on screen with a count down to the click war for all to see.

 

So this doesn't make since...what if a clan is fighting for the rail and that clan is in an alliance that is also fighting for the rail?

 

Simple: Just make an option for everyone to choose at the start of the mission that says: "Fight as clan"  "Fight as Alliance"

(emblems could work too!)

 

BUT...how would the owner of the node fight back?

 

Simple: exactly as they do now...they offer battle pay. and they can run their own rails. But instead of trying to destroy the opposing force the runs for the defender go towards repair of the rail.

 

But...how would we win if we attacked with no option for battle pay?

 

Simple: Each clan or alliance can have an option to offer a "support pay" so there could be several DIFFERENT clans or alliances offering what we think of as battle pay for the same node. So the players...can fight for the attackers but now they have a list of options to choose from...if they choose not to fight for their own clan or alliance.

 

So...you mean like everyone who attacks has to offer a "support pay"?

 

NOOOO!!  Each clan or alliance that WANTS to offer support pay can choose to do it..otherwise they stay off that list of clans that are offering this payout for support.

 

So like people who are not in  your clan or alliance can still fight for you?

 

YES! with the support pay (if your clan or alliance chooses to offer it)

 

So...

 

 

TLDR:

 

Instead of a click war to pick the attackers allow clans to fight for the rails individually or as an alliance and the biggest damaging clan or alliance wins the rail. (give them an option button to fight as clan or as alliance)

 

Allow clans or alliances who want to attack a rail the "option" to pay battle pay for supports of their individual causes. This would increase the variety and options of those who want the credit farms promoting competitive rates for pay!

 

Current node holder would still offer battle pay for support but now they have to fluctuate their pay to stay competitive with a number of attackers at the same time! People who run the rail for the defender are repairing the rail health to prolong the life in hopes to exceed the window of attack for continued possession.

 

Click wars would only happen if the majority of the damage is done by individuals who are not part of a clan.

I like the idea that there are more clans/alliances offering battle pay at the same time.

 

But i think it would also be awesome if clans/alliances could give away other things for battle pay as well such as, Resources / blueprints / keys.

 

Clan A 0ffers 2 neurodes a run for 500 runs / alliance B offers 1000 loki chasis for 1000 tickets / Alliance C offers 3 T2 cap key's per run for 500 runs. 

 

All of these could be donated to the alliance vault and handed out as battle pay.
