Rakuall Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 "In terms of the Interface as a whole, we’ve probably been through about four to five different styles since release." -Pablo (of the UI Dev Team) https://warframe.com/news/lets-meet-pablo-and-dorian Aparently Warframe reased. Moths ago, even. It's a finished product, no more major bus or changes. Guess I missed the memo (or the release notes). Oh, four or five styles since open beta? Maybe the DEvs should comminicate that, and use [thse guys] to clarify their teams public interviews if theteam misspeaks or has no idea what the are talking about. Thanks, -Rak
-CM-Tiffany Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 It was a release ever since U11. o_o They just added an Open Beta tag so they can give us huge changes like Melee 2.0 without certain people complaining. And even though I don't see the reasoning behind above sentence, if it gives them less fear to give good content to us I'm okay with it.
OniDax Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I'm sure everyone actually treats this game like it's a full release. They just call it a beta so that when they don't fix certain parts of the game, even though it's well known those areas have problems, they can say, "BETA!"
--Sokol Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Correct me if I'm mistaken but by "release" they meant since "warframe was released in to closed/open beta".

Archistopheles Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 ~Taken out of context~ "Since release" could be "Since we released it to the public"
NightmareT12 Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Of course Warframe is released. How are you pleaying otherwise!? :p Releasing Warframe =/= Release a final version
Sloan441 Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) I think it's pretty obvious open beta was essentially a soft launch. Since fundamental systems are still in flux, beta kinda still applies, but I doubt we'll ever see a final "release". Just the nature of a certain paradigm of game development these days. Edited for interesting Freudian slip... Edited June 27, 2014 by Sloan441
DogManDan Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Like almost every other F2P game on the internet that does consistent game updates/changes it will stay in the Open Beta format for a very long time. When you see a F2P game "Full Release" this will generally mean there is to be no more significant content/changes made. When they refer to being released it is in a state open to the public, but does not represent a finished product.
Lunamaniac Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 The fact that they're making such huge changes as these is evidence that the game is in a heavy development stage, or "beta".. The exact meaning of "release" when the game has indeed been accessible to players for a long time is just semantics. Obviously "release" as it is used here just refers to its initial release to the players.
(PSN)Budukai_Man Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Well Blacklight Retribiution got out of beta this week for Ps4 so there's still hope for WF too. Someday

Ionus Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Well Blacklight Retribiution got out of beta this week for Ps4 so there's still hope for WF too. Someday BLR was killed by Zombie when they all but abandoned the game. Bad example. >.>
