What about, like this "Aura" style mod that gives, i dunno, like, one attack out of 4 a multi hit.

 

Not all auras would be the same, though. Some might have AoE hits, or some crazy flip attacks.

things like this are what channeling should bring to the table already, not simply more damage. When I channel, I want to see my weapon throwing off shockwaves and leaving afterimages that do follow-up attacks (aka. multistrike).

When the multishot triggers you'll see a Phantom version of the weapon strike exaclty where the original one did.

That name sounds a lot better :o

I agree, you think it would since it leaves a light trail.

Aka 100% extra damage every hit for no goddamn reason.

This, would much rather DE doesn't go even further down that road.. The game lacks decent build variety as it is.

 

If they were gonna add in an extra 100% damage with no trade-off, I would much rather they just made Pressure Point a 10 rank mod.

Also, instead of Multishots for melee i would rather see proper combos. Not some "mash E" to kill things combos. Proper combos like any other hack and slash game does, heavy and normal attack combos.

I would like this.

 

Though the amount of time it would take building all of the heavy attack animations and rebuilding the combo system is probably more than DE is willing to invest into melee right now unfortunately.

They aren't even willing to make a second glaive/kestrel stance mod. No way they're doing all that.

120% chance for an extra blade to randomly pop out from absolutely nowhere.

90% for bullets to mysteriously duplicate themselves when they come out of the barrel of your gun.

When i channel i wan to be able to hit more than one group of enemies without hitting 0 energy immediately...

 

Aka 100% extra damage every hit for no goddamn reason.

I think most arguments against it is less about how it would make sense, and more about not adding in more mods that increase damage significantly for absolutely no trade-off.

 

Variety in mod builds is lacking enough as it is, and I think melee weapons are the only weapon class that's still somewhat decent in that regard.

The thing is both primary and secondaries have this type of mod

 

Its one reason why melee falls behind in terms of damage output and is so much higher in risk given that melee is extremely effective on crowds with a good reaching weapon

 

Im not saying its absolutely needed for melee but itd help

I vote for that we just simply implement Crissaegrim from Symphony of the Night.

Lol, I will definitely shred some Ospreys when they implement a Crissaegrim-type weapon in the game.

Well if it's an issue of damage, then why don't they just change pressure point to a ten-rank mod like Serration and Hornet strike? It would be easier to implement, and it wouldn't detract from build variety/effectiveness with even more arbitrary walls.

 

Only negative effect would be needing 1 more forma for optimized builds.

 

Seems kind of silly that Pressure point and Point blank aren't 10-rank mods imo.

While we're at it lets create a "curved handle" mod that increases damage by 120% but causes you to swing high, low, and to the sides fairly often.

 

I'm well aware spoiled strike is already the corrupted damage mod for melee being in the family of heavy caliber and magnum force
