Does Warcry Even Work Properly?

Question

Posted

Been testing things a bit with Valkry, and....

+ With max steel fiber and no warcry, I was taking 10 damage per whack from my test Charger.

+ With warcry on, I was taking.... 10 damage per whack.

Assuming the formula on the wiki for calculating damage reduction is accurate, I should have 80% damage reduction without Warcry going and 86% with it on. Which means that by the numbers I should have only been taking 7 damage per hit.

?

Well, obvious crap outta the way first:

Same level charger / actual same unit?

Shield or health damage being taken?

Other things:

I know they attack in a three swipe combo, maybe each hit deals different amounts of damage?

Edit: If Chargers deal Slash damage that could screw with the #s. But I would still expect some added reduction.

Edit2: The chance to stagger sorta implies Impact damage, so probably not.

Huh. I did some testing and was getting hit by a level 14 Charger for 12, and then 8 after activating Warcry. However, for the rest of the mission I was getting hit for 8 by the same enemy, even after Warcry wore off, and activating it again did nothing.

Probably a bug, but it seems like the armor increase might be permanent! O.o

I had activated Warcry in another encounter before getting a good test subject to cooperate.  Interesting.
