1- skyboxes and location. 

stuff like:

Grineer ship on mars? Mars out the window. Corpus ship on mars? Mars out the window. Grineer ship on saturn? Saturn out the window. Grineer ship near mercury? Very bright sunlight coming through the windows. 

 

Corpus control gas planet? Corpus gas rigs (jupiter tileset) are put on that planet. Grineer occupy that region for long enough? Grineer gas rigs used instead. Gas rig on jupiter? Orange atmosphere. Gas rig on uranus? Blue atmosphere. Gas rig on saturn? pale yellow. 

 

 

 

2- Terrain colour and Location. 

 

Y'know, If you were to grab the corpus ice planet set and give the snow/ground a retexture and change it to sand/dirt... You'd have a tileset that can fit in a fair few places and still seem fresh. 

 

 

3- Randomised props. 

 

Example; Put three nodes in 'tile 14' of the grineer asteroid. Then use the POWER OF RNG to decide what prop to put In each node. Nothing? One crate? Two crates? Grineer forklift? Rock pile? Directional Dynamic light source? Explosive barrels? 

 

Could do this with many a things. Like strategic platforms in defence. Bridges and parkour walls. Faulty doors that only half open. Environmental hazards.

Morrowind, Oblivion, skyrim, fallout 3, new vegas, Half life. counter strikes (all of them) left 4 dead, portal, TF2, day of defeat, Gmod, various source mods. Shogun 2, Alien swarm,  killing floor...

 

 

On topic; An idiot could see that it'd be easier to change the lighting,switch the skybox and maybe make a few retextures than it is to Make new tilesets from scratch. That condescending meme thing you're doing doesn't realy flatter you.

actually the new infested tile set in the breeding grounds event have some dymanic stuff going on. I soloed it a bit to look for stuff and found a few explosives that would cause stuff to happen, and walking past some stuff would make it fall/break. and there was also the terminals that let you hack them and that made small changes to the map.
