Most of them deal minimal dps for all the acc. they have (compared to Ogris and etc). So... how much will it be? 4x? 3X? 2X? 1. Ogris is AOE, something all snipers lack. It only does damage against 1 target (though it's punch through is sometimes good). Even then, Lanka just deals 250 after it's charge. 2. Travel time for Lanka is something that's really annoying for snipers. Feels like a really weird bow. 3. Sniper's really low firing rate and the fact that you have to aim (instead of run and gun) should give some kind of boost... right? Just asking, so that I sort of know what to expect. I'm sure my 3x estimation is not realistic. PS: Didn't really feel like players helping players... so i put it here.. though may be p h p. Suggestions to now: Options 1: Increase damage Options 2: Increase Crit Options 3: Minor damage boost, add more (and smaller) enemy weakpoints (and Lanka projectile speed). Ex: Shooting the brain does even more damage. Or maybe even the heart. Edited June 29, 2014 by jjpdn

I will be surprised if your vision for a sniper is to just shoot sniper bullets without even aiming at a target and expecting it to make a explosion which will take 20-30 enemies. As far as sniper buff goes, i think scott said in devstream 31 that they are coming up with a buff for snipers which would make them more viable. So, lets wait and see what he brings to the table. Doing 100,000 damage headshots every 2 seconds still means its going to take you 60 seconds to kill 30 enemies. Meanwhile, Ogris and Boltor Prime clear them out in 5-10 seconds.

It should not go towards the spray and pray, lot like the soma, and still far away from latron/ prime. taiiat Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 if all we do is add more Damage to Sniper Rifles, they'll still be missing uniqueness and a purpose of their own. Bows and Sniper Rifles share roles too much. so then Digital Extremes, i know that you know how to make things fairly incomparable, so let's do that. Sniper Rifles need to NOT be a different flavor of Bow. both need quite a bit of Alpha for them to be able to compete against other Weapon Types, but all Weapons must bring more than just Damage to the table for them to be useful and interesting. i'm still tempted about the idea of having a quite high Base Damage, acceptable Crit Chance(same as it is now would be fine, 50% is a very fair number), and very, very large Crit Multiplier(basically, they'd need a higher Crit Multiplier than Soma). alternatively, moderate Base Damage, very, very high Crit Chance, and acceptable Crit Multiplier. or mayhaps, low Base Damage, and absolutely bonkers Crit Chance and Crit Multiplier. this idea is probably terrible. but still, needs to bring unique things to the table.

Maybe, instead, they should add more weakpoints on enemies while giving minor damage increase (and also increase Lanka projectile speed, thank you very much). This way, Bows = Crit POWER SNIPER = Precision targetter, giving more dps if you hit weakpoints! These weakpoints could armor ignore AND do 4x damage. Imagine with Sonar...

Maybe as a bolt launcher or an electrical and very ineffective boltor, maybe. That Grineer sniper also needs a buff too, just like the rest. Edited June 29, 2014 by jjpdn
