Innocent_Flower Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Could we actualy have nice low gravity parts of the game that aren't just "your fall speed is reduced so you jump higher" Yeah, We'd need actualy decent wallrunning to pull this off, but it'd be most excellent to do this. A- Gravity failure (Asteroid stations, ships and space stations). Player doesn't fall. Player floats onward. There may or may not be air resistance. The player can float through the air and can use a small amount of suit-generated thrust to move around slowly. However It's preferable to move across the map with parkour, which obviously becomes fabulous without the hinders of gravity. The player can also use crouch to magnetize and keep them stuck to a wall/floor/ceiling, Though the speed of travel is lowest here. B: Alternate gravity. This is where the planet offers slightly different gravity levels than normal, Or a ship/station/astroid is falling at a speed that changes the surfaces players use (you totaly should not have sabotaged that particular generator). Some tilesets (ships) would still work for players if you turned them on their side or put them upside-down. It'd be awesome. Try it with breaches? Other stuff to consider. - Valk and zeph will experience a new haven. For low/no gravity situations I'm going to suggest that zeph's first ability takes the player where the cursor is pointing. - Vaubun can use different Bastille. Including one that makes gravity normal within it for players. - After a couple of seconds, Opponents in bastile begin are able to try and attack the player (with a somewhat reduced accuracy) Have you seen my crazy Bastille? It's silly-huge and by all accounts could be described as OP.
Siege__ Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Mother of yes, portable Gravity pockets? All of my yes. What about for hull breaches through windows?
S.T.M.P.D Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Zero-g is very hard to do in video games, especially given all the hidden implications of it, and how physics engines seem to have a need to find a "down". It'd be hard to pull off, but it'd be new and fresh and everyone would be throwing money at Warframe then.
