Need A Good Secondary To Invest In

Question

Posted

I need a good accurate secondary to go with my Paris Prime (hate sniping targets with arrows) andI'm almost done with Lex Prime, is it a good sidearm fully moded? Can it deal with mobs after 30m void survival?

I got the Marelok too but I just don't really like how it looks, I know it's supposed to be THE best sniping secondary but I'd like to avoid it if possible.

And out of curiosity, is there some sort of list of FOTM weapons anywhere?

Well my money says that there will be a AkLex P in the future so you might not want to invest in it atm but keep it around.

But if you have a long range pimary weapon why not go for something like the Brakk as a secondary to deal with up close targets?

If you really want accurate sidearm i would go for Akbolto, Kunai/Despair or Twin Wraith Vipers/Twin Gremlins/Akstiletto/Dex Furis if you like fast fire rate.

It's just that I find that the bows are good at medium/short range, when you hit something for 50k and it gets knocked back kiling everything on it's path it really feels like a super shotgun lol.

The problem with Akbolto and despair is the projectile time, same as bows, can't hit crap if the target's too far and moving =/

Was thinking of a setup with Paris for mid range, something like Lex Prime for very long range and just using a Dragon Nikana for close range.

If you're using Bows, you'll probably want to use them mid-long range. There's no real reason you need to be going for really long ranges at the moment, with a few exceptions on open-world maps. Bows should really suffice for your long-range needs.

That should leave you with a low-mid range secondary, while you pull out your Paris for long-range. If you're looking for something with less travel time, I'm a fan of the Dual Cestra, Sicarus Prime, and Tysis. The Dual Cestra doesn't have the accuracy to deal with long-range attacks and has far too much recoil anyways, while the Sicarus Prime is better for long-range if you slap on Steady Hands. The Tysis is primarily for proc chance, though, so if you're looking for more damage output, I wouldn't recommend it.

If you don't want to get the Brakk or Detron, there's still good shotgun-style secondaries with good damage output. The Akbronco Prime is a stellar weapon in my opinion and doesn't get enough love, while I personally like the Pyrana (but am looking forward to its inevitable ak-variety).

But if you don't like any of those options, there's always a few more weird ones for secondaries. The Ballistica doesn't have the worst travel time, but does have some. The Castanas have amazing damage but they can be difficult to handle. The Twin Gremlins are pretty fun (and look really good imo) but are a little bit outclassed by the Dex Furis from what I've seen, but I can't say that for sure. I haven't tried the Embolist or Stug, but some people swear by those two weapons, as strange as they are.
